Well, in each reigon, between Ash and his travelling companians they eventually recieve all of the reigon's starters. For the upcoming reigon, how do you think the starters will be distributed? Correct me if I'm wrong but

Kanto- Ash had Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander

Johto- Ash had Totadile, Chikorita and Cyndiquil

Hoenn- Brock had Mudkip, Ash had Treecko, May had Torchic

Sinnoh- Dawn has Piplup, Ash had Turtwig and Chimchar

In all reigon's so far, Ash has had the grass starter, do you think he'll still have the grass starter or will his companian get it? Will he have all of the starters or maybe none? I've been thinking about this for a while, just wanted to know your opinions.

Kanto and Johto made sense, it was Ash doing everything so he had all the starters, but I didn't really like it, took away from team possibilities (he used Pigdgyotto like three times in Kanto). I don't like the one in Sinnoh. Ash having two of them is just tacky. I understand the circumstances, but I still don't like it.

I liked it best in Hoenn, made for a great trainer trio dynamic.I'm hoping they do that again.

I think it would be interesting if Ash didn't get any starters for a gen, his team would seem more interesting. Not like that will happen though.

I pretty much just want him to get the water starter and evolve it fully. Also a fire starter that evolves once or twice.

Grass starter should go to Dawn or new main girl coordinator

it depends alot on the design of the starters. I just hope he doesnt get a starter that has a crappy design. That being said, if all the designs are good, then id want him to get the water type.

I would like to finally see the water-starter get some attention for once. Yeah sure, we had marshtomp but falling in love with a flaffy isn't really good caracter-development. Let ash have the gen V water-starter and have it evolve to it's final form three times in a row.

Well, he'll get the grass starter for sure, and maybe one other starter. I don't know. One at the very least. three at the most.

I think Satoshi should stick with the Grass-type starter.

The only reason why it didn't end up with three different people getting the starters in the Sinnoh season is because Paul is 'Mr Tough-Guy' and has to have all the strongest Pokémon so he let Chimchar go, hence why ash now has one. If that didn't happen then we would have ended up with a trio like in Hoenn with Ash having Turtwig, Paul having Chimchar, and Dawn having Piplup.

Don't you mean how many, not how much? Last time I checked starter Pokemon weren't currency or something.

Anyways I think he'll get 2 next gen.

I haven't seen Ash get any Water starters for a while (Squirtle and Totodile are the ones he currently has, even though the former is currently with Vermilion City's Officer Jenny).

Obviously, he'll get the Grass starter next gen, but I think he'll get the Water starter as well.

Well I can partially understand why the gave him Chimchar from Paul in Sinnoh, mainly because there are not that many fire types in the Sinnoh Pokedex. I realise that this is not always true for the anime but the Pokemon you can get are Houndour, Ponyta and also Magby. Paul already has Magmortar so I don't think Ash would have gotten him. I would have loved him to have Houndour but Nyeh.

I think that he should get the fire type this time as the main starter, though it would be a bummer if the Gen V starter sucked.

I'd really like them to break that tradition actually, especially if we still have a coordinator on the cast, I'd like the grass type starter to be used in contests. We've had two fully evolved grass type starters in a row, it'd be nice to see something else.

As I said before... it's about damn time that Ash got a water starter again and fully evolved it.

Houndoom is not an evil pokemon. Remember, in pokemon dark =/= evil.

yeah, I know and that wasn't what I said.

My point is just that none of were ever portayed as cute, heroic, cool or part of any solution to the better.

I know the Dark-type is more like fighting unfair but I'm not sure the writers of the anime are as convinced.
