Offline friends! We know 'em and love 'em. How often do you hang out with your friends offline? Is it occasionally, weekly, maybe almost daily? Or maybe you've transitioned to speaking with them mostly online (Facebook, WhatsApp, Discord, etc)? When was the last time you hung out with your friends offline?

Most of my friends have all drifted apart and I don't talk to most of them anymore. I just have two friends I keep in touch with on the phone or on Facebook and I only see one friend around twice a year. One of my friend is busy with work, family, and she struggles maintaining friendship.

my best friend lives with me so... every day! :enzap:

for all my other friends it depends how far away they live from me. for my friends who live nearby its every fortnight or so. for other friends who live further away its maybe a handful of times a year

im actually going to be travelling to a far away city this weekend to visit my old housemates! im really looking forward to it :yay:

Pretty much on a weekly basis. My boyfriend and I don't want to spend all our time at home except for specific circumstances. Once every blue moon, we lock ourselves in the house to play video games, like a few weeks ago, we spent two full days playing It Takes Two, but aside from that, we tend to give a room for proper socializing. So I often make plans with friends in the weekends.

I, um, haven't had offline friends in a few years. Unless you wanted to count the people from my graduate program that I run the Discord for but it's all online anyways so doesn't count.

I discuss it before in another thread, but basically no one decided to treat me like a human being and never checked in on me after cutting in person contact and once I graduated college no one ever contacted me again from there. And I discount work since while my coworkers are nice most of the time at my retail job, no one has actually invited me anywhere or offer to hang out outside of work and I pretty much work alone at both there and my community college job so no contacts there.

I forget the last time I was personally invited to something by anyone that wasn't family.

When I did have friends back in college, I would just remain on campus and either hang out in a lounge, the publications room, or the college radio station. Don't think I ever got invited off campus to anything either, still remember my pathetic 21st that I had to spend alone due to finals week and someone knew of my birthday but never invited me anywhere (I don't like sharing my birthday most of the time, but this person knew of it and still didn't say anything to me in person despite seeing me that day).

I need offline friends, but due to limitations, I don't think I am getting any soon. Give it up for year three of no friends.

my offline friends live too far away from me to hang out. i haven't seen one of them in 15+ years (we're hopefully going to meet up this year, should be an exciting experience!), and the other only comes by once every year or two. it seems that life keeps taking us in different directions, though one of them i still talk to frequently, so at least we keep in touch.

Nowhere near as much as I would like! :sadsola: I'm fortunate to live with one of my best friends, but even so, we've been spending little quality time together lately because we're both so very busy with work and other commitments. My other close friends & I have transitioned almost entirely to communicating via long essays and voice notes on WhatsApp, catching each other up on what's been going on in our lives as we're struggling to find times that work for everyone to meet up. It's depressing and makes me resent adult life a lot, hahahaha. I never had any trouble spending as much time as I wanted with the people I love before I started working full-time; I feel like I spend more quality time with my coworkers than I do with my actual friends. I do have a rare catch-up with the best friend that I live with in the diary for one of my days off next week, at least. Any day now I'll get to spend time with the others :(

I have a best friend. I know her in person, but I’m not sure how she feels. I feel like we’re drifting apart. I’m getting urges to contact my toxic friend again for relief. I don’t have anyone to talk to regularly, and it hurts.

I suffer from the "all my loved ones live in different countries from me" disease, so I hardly ever get to spend time with most of them... one of my best friends and their partner live in the same city as me, though, so we meet up around once a week! As for the others... well, I've met none of them IRL LOL, except for my QPP who I met once earlier this year, and plan to see again over the summer. So, twice a year from now on might be nice!

I have come to the realization that I don't have any irl friends that I could deeply portray my interests to, whoops

I hope this can be changed one way or another in the future

Wait you guys have friends???

For real though I don't have irl friends anymore. I used to have heaps but after I left school I became socially closed off due to depression and lost contact with them. So uh yeah... ;_;
