Very few protagonists, and their rivals, have had said ages.

Red is eleven in RGBY according to the manual and thus we can conclude that Blue and Leaf are too.
Wes is around eighteen, apparently (I have no idea where that came from).
Lucy Lightfoot (?) is around Wes's age too.

The anime has put the minimum age to enter the league at ten. Most manga keep the characters at ten - twelve at first too, though it may due to the popularity of the rule and because they're presumably around that age.

Those rules only apply to those medias though. No conformation in the games.

I can't help but think that the HGSS gang are the Kanto's (and presumably Hoenn's) gangs age.

Red gets mistaken for Silver in FRLG. Who would mistake a 7 - 8 year old for an eleven year old? Silver doesn't look that much older or taller then either Lyra or Ethan; The only real difference is that they have the innocent, heroic, loli-shota look going on while Silver looks like a menace.

I've always put the main game player character and rival(s) at around 12. Maybe fourteen at the very oldest, but I doubt that.

I thought I heard/read that Wes was seventeen and Lucy was in her early twenties, though.

Let's see:
-Red/Blue/Leaf: 12-13
-Gold: 11
-Silver: 11-12
-Crystal: 11
-Brendan: 10
-May: 10
-Lucas: 10-11
-Dawn: 10

All of the main series (RBGYGSCRSEFRLGDPPTHGSS) are 10 years old.
This.

How I personally think of them:

RBY: 12
GSC: 11
RSE: 14 at least (Look at May's sprite)
FRLG: 14 at least (again, Leaf's sprite)
DPPt: 13
HGSS: 13
BW: 15-16

They are well-endowned for the age of ten. Too well-endowned imo.

This seems very similar to another thread you started late last year, Somari. I'm going to close this one, as the topic was already discussed reasonably thoroughly over the course of a month back then.
