How old is Bianca in the anime?

I was watching some episodes, and realized that Bianca was way much taller than Ash - just a few inches less than Cilan. Also, in my country's dubbed version, Ash addressed Bianca as someone older than him. And by the way she talked, it seemed as if Bianca was around the same age as Cilan.

Just how old are they anyway? Is it just the dubbing? Or Bianca is a lot more older than Ash? Then how old is Cilan? Same as Brock or less?
 
I would guess around my age 14-15. Her height shows that, but I can't put her voice down on an age. If she were that age, she sure doesn't act it. :p
 
I always imagined her as like 16 or 17. I'm probably not right. She's probably something unbelievable like 12 or something. I always imagined that Cilan would be 17, though... Hmm, ages don't really make sense in Pokemon.
 
I don't have any idea, but I'd think relatively young. First off, height doesn't make any real difference. Someone can be a lot younger and still be taller than someone. Especially 10 year olds. Girls are usually taller than boys at that age anyway. Also, to make a comparison, in the first season, Misty was 10 but she always acted / sort of looked a lot older than that. And she was taller than Ash. Bianca's probably older than 10, but probably not that much older. How old was she in the games? She's probably close to the same age there as she is in the anime
 
I guess she's about 15 or so, because she looks kinda matured-looking compared to most characters. One thing that struck me is that she's taller than Stephan, who looks to be a few years younger than her, and a person his stature should be taller (and bigger) than her. For that matter, I think Cilan's a 15-year-old, like Brock (I think he's stated to be that old).

In any case, this is clearly a thread for the anime forum, so I will move it there.

She is 10? Someone of that body doesn't look like a 10-year-old to me. Besides, she said something about not being able to go on a Pokemon journey because her father doesn't allow it when she was first introduced (Minccino Neat & Tidy).

She isn't 10 in the games. I believe that her, Cheren, and the ingame protagonist Hilda/Hilbert are all closer to 16 in the games.

In the anime however I think that she could be around 12-14.

i can tell you one thing

12 year olds don't look like that in real life...
 
She seems like a teenager to me, around 15 or 16. Old enough to be a pervert, anyway.
 
She's a teenager, at least. Roughly 14-16 years of age in the games, at least. Around fourteen and a half in my headcanon anyway, but that's besides the point.
/I bring my headcanon into much too many conversations anyway
And to be honest, with most of the main protagonists, their age (in the games at least) is whatever floats your boat. As there's no confirmed age for say, the Ranger protagonists and Hilda/Hilbert and the like. Of course, in the games, feel free to believe that Dawn/Lucas are twelve, Brendan/May are thirteen and whatever.
And being immature does not always make one a child.
 
Hmm i would say 14-16. Like in game - but you never know I mean Ash is still 10 /facedesk
 
Black in Special is confirmed to be 14 if I recall. And that manga bases the characters on the age they are in-game. So I'm pretty sure Bianca is atleast 14.

Games (Along with player characters and Cheren): 14
In the anime she seems to be somewhat older to me, around 16 probably.

... Except that the in-game ages haven't been confirmed. That 14 is just a guess.
 
I always assumed her to be somewhere between 13-15 because she's notably taller than Ash and Iris, and other recurring female characters (including the mains) that were in Ash's age group were always depicted to be the same height as Ash most of the time (certain animators may not make them even, but that's nothing new). I guess Bianca having visible development in her chest area counts, even though May also had that, but May didn't tower over Ash in the height department. Height + obviously having gone through puberty tells me Bianca is definitely, at a bare minimum, 13. Counting the fact that the game PCs and Cheren+Bianca were all said to be older than 10 in the games and seeing that anime Bianca doesn't look at all different from her official game art in terms of physique, then yeah. I'd say she's definitely not in Ash's age group and closer to Cilan's.

Y'know, Barry was always portrayed to be taller than Ash too, so I wondered if they meant for him to be older in the anime as well...

Then again, this could be Japan joking around about American stereotypes (they gave anime Barry some of those too) what with us being so much taller than they are and the blond hair and bigger boobs... that's the only way I'd buy Bianca being 10. But since Georgia and Burgundy aren't like that, I'm still in the camp that says Bianca is well into her teens.

So that averages to about 15. I'll go with that.
