How should and shouldn't the ending of the anime be structured?

If you remember back during the test forum days there was a thread about how you want the anime to end(at least I THINK it was from the test forum cause I can't find it). Anyways this thread is NOT a duplicate. Not only does this deal with the absolute it end but the moments up to it and what forms these parts will take (multiparters seasons or movies) and also feel free to give the worst possible scenarios. It's easier to show so I'll share my thoughts.

I think the last regional saga should have multiple league entering trainers in the main group (yes this beneficial to the story and there are ways to get around the problem of doing every gym battle three to five times if you want to know how VM me). Anyways the group should be betray as evenly matched not completely just enough not to make any one look like a loser to the viewer. Anyways the nice guy of the group should win in the final match against Ash. Them being so equal will inspire Ash to believe that he can win.

There should then will be an entire season dedicated to Ash winning the league in either Kanto or Sinnoh. The first half of the season should be entirely dedicated to Ash training and with it his character development full of full battles cameos of old characters and flashbacks. The second half should be dedicated to the tournament and the battles with the elite four. In between the halves Pikachu should be kidnapped by team rocket or team rocket should be up to something leading to a storming TRHQ saga starring Ash and his strongest allies such as Tyson Lance and Paul. But it should end with the aftermath Ash beating the Kanto champion.

Three or so years after that there should be a short series dedicated to telling the key points of Ash journey from champion to master.

Needless to say your posts don't have to be as detailed.

Ash and co. travel through Region X with a rotating cast of companions and Pokémon, culminating in a final showdown against whoever the villains are, one final tournament Ash wins, and an epilogue set ten years from now designed to crush the shippers' dreams with a "where are they and what are they doing now". Ex: Ash married Misty and died in a tragic cooking accident, but before they went they were respected trainers; May, Max, and Drew built the Death Star, crewed it with Daleks, and were accidentally killed by the Doctor; Brock married Croagunk and Dialga only to be killed by a jealous Palkia and whatever else ridiculous epilogue junk you can make up.

One simple idea, a final league where the only entrants must have collected all of the badges from the other regions, feeling confident, Ash enters, but sees that all of his old rivals decide to enter as well. Ash decides to travel the region to train for the League which will begin in a year. Stalked by Rockets, and other things, he runs into various characters which had been important to him, and slowly gains confidence. He enters the league and faces each opponent, one by one, narrowly winning each one, then for the final battle he faces some amazing trainer, the battle becomes insanely close, then in the end Ash narrowly loses and breaks down into tears at having failed his goal. The opponent gives Ash his hand and helps him up, telling him the battle could have easily gone either way, and restores Ash’s confidence. Ash then slowly stands and agrees to a rematch in one month’s time. Ash trains for some time and then hears that his new rival beat all of the elite four, and decides to take each one on. He beats each one then faces his rival for the final showdown. It is in a huge stadium where all of the friends Ash made during his entire journey are at, then they battle. The battle rages on, and at the end when they each have one more pokémon left, they launch their strongest moves and the camera pans out revealing a television. A kid is shown watching the tv and is called by his father. He runs to him and it is shown that the father is a much older version of Ash. Ash simply tells him, “Tomorrow you get your first pokémon, are you ready?” The kid smiles and says, “Yup, I’m gonna become the next pokémon master.” Ash just smirks and says, “Sure, but you’ll have to face me eventually then.” Fade to black, never stated that Ash won that match back then, only hinted, and leaves enough room for bad fanfics.

Well, In most ending it show Pikachu playing with other pokemon & all the human character are shown in inset
But instate of that why can't they show Ash playing with pikachu and other starter pokemon
For example
1) A ending where Ash walking along with Pikachu & other Unova stater
2)The background change's & various Bubble start to float arrond
3)Each babble has the various cast & non cast character like Trip, Trip's Servine, Iris,Iris's Axnew, Clian, Clian's Pansage, Langley, Kenyen , Kenyen's Zebratica Etc
4)Then hole background get fill with Babble & We see a Flash of light
5)Then we see some scene of of current episode
6)Then a another Flash of life
7)Then Ash sitting on ground surprised while Snvy in lap, Tepig & Oshawotte on his two sholder , Pikachu on his head while wearing Ash's Hat

The thread is about how the anime series ends.

Not one of the many ending theme songs.................

At the end , Ash enter World champion League
In There, not only Ash face other E4 champion, he also face Playable character of another region (like lucas, Branden)
At the Final, Ash face's Jimmy
The anime End after Ash become the world champion
That how I think the Anime should end
After all, A E4 champion is only best in region not world
So the anime should end when Ash become's world's best

So should that tournament take 10 episodes or a entire season or two seasons or what?

Ash compete's in a tournament in a certain region, and faces the player characters (Jimmy, Brendan, Lucas, Hilbert)

Ash wins the tournament, but he has to fight a legendary trainer called Red

Both send out their pikachus and the stadium goes yellow to white and blank due to the enormous electricity fight

scene changes to a very old Prof Oak typing something in his computer with a sentence saying "There was this boy called Ash..."

END

I think that Ash will win Unova League, beat Alder and finally become Pokemon Master!
And still, he will beat Burgundy, Georgia, Luke, A New Rival, Stephan and Trip respectively on his way to become a Unova League Champion!

the ending should be structured on ash in a tournament where he battles important fiugures from the entire sereis ( Gary, Lance, Alder,ECT, ECT) he becomes chapion, everyone has a tearful goodbye. and in the ending sequence of the last episode of the small battle arc we hear " A meeting and Parting" and instead of TBC we see THE END.

Satoshi becomes a Champion of a region. There's a timeskip of a few months/undisclosed period of time (no, not so he'll be 15 or something) and then realises that being a Pokémon Master isn't what he wants, he just wants to travel with his friends and battle. Kinda similar to how Adeku is.

The series should end off with a world tournament.

But before that, we have 2 different arcs, The first being a Regular Pokemon League Arc that corresponds with the games, however the League that Ash enters is one from his previous Journeys, preferably Sinnoh. So during that arc, Ash would be training his Pokemon, reuniting with old friends and such all for the upcoming League. Which he wins.

The second Arc would be the E4 challenge. this is where a time jump would occur, Ash sets off to train like Tyson did at the end of the Hoenn League before making the challenge. He sets off alone, for a year or two to compete in minor tournaments or leagues before showing up one year before the World Tournament is held. Ash challenges the E4 and loses against the 3rd or 4th Elite. Once defeated Ash manages to contact Scott to see if he would be eligible to enter the world Tournament. Where only the best World Wide(Not just the Regions Ash has been to: Means loads of new Pokemon) can compete. Scott tells him he'll see what he can do, and gets Ash a pass into the Tournament.

Now the World Tournament Arc, and Series Finale. Basically there are 1024 Trainers there to compete from around the World. And the difference from the Pokemon League is that ALL battles are Six on Six single elimination. That means no preliminaries, its just straight into the battles or victory tournament. After a grueling 9 battles, Ash makes it into the Finals, where he faces off against:

Cynthia(Because they didn't get their match when Ash faced the E4, and Ash promised one day he would face Cynthia for the title)

Paul (Biggest Rival, Cynthia states that one day Ash and Paul would face each other on at the Champions League one day)

or last years second placer, who lost to the current Pokemon Master.

Ash and ______ Fight in an outstanding battle, one that could have been mistaken for the title of Master. It all comes to a head when Ash sends out Charizard as his final Pokemon against _________. After an exhausting battle Charizards comes out victorious meaning Ash has won the World Championships,as well as gaining the opportunity to face the reigning Master for the title.

The battle takes place one week later and is the battle of the century, Ash vs Red; his Father. (Cliche but you'll see why) With all but one Pokemon KO'd for both Ash and Red, the two send out their Pikachus, (Like father like son) in an extraordinary battle of pride, power, friendship, and the bonds made between Pokemon and their Trainers. In the end, with a head to head Volt Tackle from both Pikachus, and explosive finish that shut down all power in the stadium and broadcasting capabilities, Ashs Pikachu is left KO'd while Red's is barely keeping itself standing on shaking paws. Giving Red the victory.

The battle ends with Ash running over to Pikachu and scooping him up into his arms holding him carefully, asking him if hes alright. Red walks over and congratulates Ash on a hard fought battle, stating it was the best he'd ever been in. He then encourages Ash to keep training, keep fighting because there's always next year. In the end, Ash and his father shake hands before giving each other a hug. Where Ash then turns around and walks towards the exit of the field, with Pikachu in his arms, the crowd chanting his name in the background as the screen fades to black.

Then in white letters on the screen it states "Two Years Later" It shows Ash once again battling in the finals of the World Tournament against his father for the title, who is down to his final Pokemon while Ash is ahead by still having Pikachu and Charizard on hand(Improvement in battling style) Ash orders Pikachu to finish off Reds Pikachu with a full power Thunder, where a flashback plays at the same time of when Pikachu saved itself and Ash from the flock of Spearow.

The attack lands, creating an explosion, once the dust settles the referee steps forwards and states that Reds Pikachu is unable to battle and that Ash is the winner. As the ref says this the camera pans away from him to the downed reds Pikachu and sparks crackling from his cheeks Ashs Pikachu.

With the title of Master under his belt, Ash runs forwards and takes Pikachu into a hug exclaiming, "We did it buddy! We finally did it... Finally..." The screen fades to black and the credits roll with the original theme and highlights from every single season up to the point of becoming a Master.

(I have far to much time on my hands)

elements I would like to see:
-explain the Ultimate reason why Ash and ho-oh are connected.
-bring forth a trainer whose actions actually can bring casualty to the worlds as a antagonist/flawed hero type
-bring Ash's father in the series, but NOT as Pokemon Master. no cliche' Angelic layer ending here, plz.
-as everyone stated, World Championship Saga. this is the best way to bring all of Ash's major friends and Rivals together in one place. Cynthia, Lance, Paul, Ritchie, Trollbias, even that dude with the Sandshrew from season 1.
-2-3 year timeskip, One Piece style. reintroduce the cast to show how they have grown to be more powerful trainers. also could be used to have the Older Gym Leader Misty and Dragon Queen Iris in the series.
-And most importantly: explain exactly what the hell this scene is related to....

Hypothetically when anime comes to end, i think this would be appropriate way to finish up anime, characters and their stories.

Call me crazy but imo it would be nice if for final season writers reunited Ash, Misty and Brock going on one more journey together having things come full circle with companions which started it giving them some more development, and tying up loose ends in their stories, later on bringing all previous companions for mini arcs like May, Dawn, Iris etc wrapping up their loose ends in stories and getting some recognition for contribution they made to this show and Ash development influencing him quite a lot.

Afterwards i would like one grand finale where everyone come to support Ash for most important battles of his life, giving him moral strength and support of not being alone.

As far as character stories goes, something along this lines:
- Ash should either become or come very close toward achievement of his pokemon master goal. Prior to that he would already win league, defeat E4 and probably enter other regions, fulfill specific tasks like Battle Frontier was going on bigger and more requiring challenges until he become recognized as one of best if not best trainer in world.
I also think it would be fitting if he met his father who happens to be very strong trainer serving as final and ultimate test to Ash skills as trainer,to show if he has what it takes to become master. It would be interesting to see father-son showdown.

-About Team Rocket i could see Jessie,James and Meowth after TR got disbanded somehow escaping arrest and prison. Knowing Jessie and James they aren't sure themselves what they want to do in life, going through soul searching through basically whole show. Jessie changed several careers, while James is too submissive and insecure as character to stand up for himself being in most cases follower doing what others tell him to do. I could see them trying to find what is their place in society and life.

-May would win Grand Festival becoming top coordinator and fulfilling her longtime dream, proving herself in coordinator world.

-Same applies to Dawn, and after she becomes top coordinator i could see her deciding to pursue different career(she did showed some interest in being pokemon stylist).

-about Misty, i think most suitable ending would be if she achieved her goal of water pokemon master going on journey to become recognized and strong water trainer following Wallace foot steps, or becoming E4 of water types. She always wanted to become strongest water trainer having high ambitions, and i think it would be cool if such thing happened.

-Brock would become pokemon doctor and either open pokemon clinic or go on journey providing assistance in places where he would be needed.

-with Cilan i think it would make sense if he become S class connoisseur(he ius already A class not being far away), opening connoisseur shop or becoming one of evaluators which would test ourt young, aspiring connoiseurs in future.

-Iris should become dragon master proving herself to people from dragon village and other powerful dragon trainers, with AXew evolving eventually.

-Max should age getting his first pokemon and starting out his own journey as pokemon trainer(perhaps even having promised battle with Ash for old time sake).

-Tracey perhaps going on some journey to research about new pokemon and regions enriching knowledge as pokemon watcher, eventually taking up Oaks place at ranch in taking care of pokemon on day.

This is what should happen imo.

-And most importantly: explain exactly what the hell this scene is related to....
I don't know Japanese so I don't know exactly what's being said, but my guess is that it has no relevence. It wasn't in the movie so it's not canon. It may have been made solely for the trailer, or may simply be an unused scene (lots of movies have unused content in the early trailers).

Anyway, for the ending of the anime... I think they missed their chance. It should have ended at the end of Johto. Perhaps the Silver Conference should have been done differently as well... Ash could have won, ending the series because he accomplished his goal. Or Ash could have lost and the series could have ended with Ash setting off on a new journey to do more training (with no new season being mae about this new journey).
However, since it did not end then, I really don't see how they could end it. The Pokémon League tournament thing occurs at the end of every region so it's no longer as epic as it once was... ending it now (even if he wins) would not have the same feel as ending it back at Johto. My guess is that the series will have no ending... it will just continue until the people making it determine that it's not profitable to continue and then they'll stop it at the end of the season and just not make any more episodes after that (and when that time comes, they may come up with an ending, but no doubt it'll feel rushed / thrown together and not as good as it could have been).

Why should it have ended after Johto? Ash was still a terrible trainer in Johto with a weak pokemon team. While I think they should have done more with Giovanni and TR in Johto, it did provide closure for Misty and Gary. Come to think of it after seeing what Brock became in the next two arcs, he could have left back then too.

You have to remember the Pokemon anime was still huge at the time, they were never going to drop Ash that early in the franchises' history.

It only provided closure for Gary. Misty departure was abrupt and rushed not providing ending to her story at all, leaving goal of water master and ambitions unfinished with nothing being tied.

And i disagree about Brock(at least in AG). He was quite interesting and full of character there having several memorable moments, receiving generally better treatment compared to Johto. Im glad he was there.
Granted in DP he was sidelined too much but he still had his moments, considering how he made lot of progress as breeder there, got his own poke egg, entered quite a few competitions and had build up in deciding to become doctor.
