Lyra is 4'11, Ethan is 4'11, Dawn is 4'6, and Lucas is 4'7.
Lyra and Ethan are pretty tall compared to Dawn and Lucas..

Only Gen 4 has given their height and weight.

In the previous gens, when they gave us a comparison, we just saw their sprites.

I've always thought as May being an inch or so taller then Lyra, but shorter then Leaf by maybe an inch or so. Brendan and Red? ..Meh.
I expect Brendan to be the same height as May and Red and inch or two taller then Leaf.

Silver drew me as being 5'0. Green Blue as more or less the same height as Red, Wally either an inch taller, or shorter, then May, and Pearl an inch or so taller then Lucas.

With White and Blue, I expect them to be around the 5'3 - 5'6 range.

What do you mean? Kids that age are around that height. I doubt any of them have entered puberty.

I'm only 5'1 and I'm a few years older then them. Not everyone is going to be 5'4 when they're 12.

Also aren't the games based in Pokepan?
 
In Japan, people are usually a bit shorter.
I don't think the ages were really ever given in the games though they were in the anime. That being said, I like to think Nintendo isn't as stupid as the anime and the protagonists and rivals are 13-15 years old. Kotone/Lyra being 4'11" doesn't strike me as odd if she's 11-15 - but then again I know a girl my age (20-21) who is 4'11" (and she looks and behaves like a middle schooler) and I'm 5'2"

The only protagonists with given ages are Red, Leaf, and Blue. They were eleven in RGBY/FRLG thus in HGSS/GSC they're fourteen.

White and Black will probably have their ages given, but as of now we don't know them.

But anyway, why are we talking about ages?
 
I can't tell you exact heights, but I'm pretty sure that, by the time of Generation II/IV, Red, Leaf, Brendan and May (being roughly 14 years old by then) would all be a bit taller than Ethan, Lyra, Lucas and Dawn (all of them being roughly 10-12).

To be a little more specific, based on my (admittedly limited) knowledge of the early stages of puberty in both sexes, I would actually expect Leaf to be just slightly taller than Red. If not, then they should be about the same height.

I have no idea about "Black" and "White" (which one's which, anyway?).

Silver, I expect, would be quite tall for his age, but not as tall as Blue. I have no confirmation as to whether or not Wally is even still alive during Generation II/IV, but if he is, he's probably the shortest of the rivals. Barry....I really don't care how tall he is. I just want him to quit overdosing on Mountain Dew.
 
4'11 is tall for an 11 years old even in western terms, which makes me suspect that Ethan and Lyra are at least 12 years old.

I'm amazed that Lyra is 2lbs heavier than Ethan; she doesn't exactly strike me as the chubby type. I'm guessing that Kris is lighter than both of them, as she seems to be more athletic.

I don't think we can tell height differences from Sugimori's renditions of the characters (except for the case of the new characters), but the anime has made it a point that Lyra is taller than Ash, who is taller than Dawn, who in turn is taller than May. Likewise, Gary and Barry are taller than Ash. Considering that Lyra really is taller than Dawn in the games, the anime is as good a source as any, but Red should be taller in the Generation II time period. Sadly, most of the player characters have been missing in action, and even Kenta and Marina are obviously older than their game counterparts.

Either one if you wish though. I refer to the boy as "Black" and girl as "White" though.

..I really don't see why the anime would mean anything. They probably just chose some random heights they thought would look good.

Also, I wouldn't consider Lyra chubby; Her BMI is only 18.3, which makes her underweight.

Because Ken Sugimori oversees the animation, at least at a conceptional level. At any rate, it is certainly a better source than the figment of your imagination.

I used colorful lanuage to pinpoint the fact that she is oddly heavier than her male counterpart despite being the same height. She actually looks thinner than Ethan, so I would think that her weight would reflect it.

BMI is independent of age, which makes it terribly inaccurate in cases like this. Lyra's weight puts her at the 41th percentile of 12 years old girls, which is not low. In contrast, Dawn is at the 26th percentile of 11 years old girls. But the one who is really getting close to being on the chubby side is actually Lucas, who is at the 54th percentile of 11 years old boys.

It is odd how she weighs more then Ethan. Then again, we don't know the other girls weight so it may be a common occurrence.
Dawn is just one of the more..Light characters.

I still don't think the anime is that good of a way of telling their height. Maybe I'm off with heights or my memory is bleak, but Lyra seems an inch too short in the anime.

She is noticeably taller than Dawn, but not to the extent that you'd expect from the game statistics (about a head's difference). Still, I was surprised to see that there was any difference to begin with.

It's worth noting that a beta screenshot showed Lyra with Dawn's Pokédex statistics. It definitely seems that Game Freak decided to make Ethan and Lyra older than Lucas and Dawn; it makes me wonder how much younger than Red they really are.

Red: 4'0
Leaf: 3'9
Blue: 4'4

Gen II:
Gold: 3'11
Silver: 4'3
Crystal: 3'8
Lyra: 3'11

Gen III:
Brendan: 4'2
May: 3'11

Gen IV:
Lucas: 4'4
Dawn: 4'0
Barry: 4'2

Like I said, those are my guesses, but I could be wrong.
 
I always imagined Lyra as someone tall(for whatever age she is) and skinny.
I see May being the shortest too.


I don't understand inches and stuff(like 4'6 for example). I use the metric system.

I'm a bit conflicted on the Gen 3 females. Part of me thinks Leaf is taller then May but another part thinks its the other way around.
 
I swear the heights are really inaccuratly wrong because japanese people such as myself are small (except i'm growing because of my dad) so really since Ethan is 10 he should only be really 4 foot 7 inches.

Well.... we really don't know the ages of any of th ePC besides Red Leaf and Blue who are 11 in R/B/Y/FR/LG and 14 in G/S/HG/SS

I think Red and Blue are around 4'10 and Leaf 4'8 (Girl's are usssually shorter at that age.)

Ethan and Lyra are probibly about 10 or 11 (7 or 8 in Gen I) which is why they are so tall...

May and Breden are iffy May seems to be about 4'7 and Brenden 4'9 (He just looks taller to me.) and are around 10 or so a year younger than Red/Leaf/Blue as R/S/E takes place around the same time as R/B/Y

Dawn and Lucas seem to be the youngest of the group which explains there height
