I got Platinum today and the guide on nintento.com is for the DSi and doesn't tell me what to do with a regular DS.

Do you need a cable or is it all just built in to connect to wireless internet?

Thanks

What do you mean a "regular DS"? An original DS? It's the same as a Lite...no cables.

yes an original. I found out where to do it when you start the game, but i'm having troubles where it's not finding my connection, and it's right in my room >.> any advice?

Well let's see. When you use the in-game Wi-fi connection (right under New Game), and you select to search for a wifi router, does it find the name of your router? And if it does, what kind of router is it and does it have a passcode?

it says the access point's security settings are not supported by the Nintendo ds which means that apparently it found something to connect to hmm..

Oh, sorry, you probably have a router whose frequency is not compatible with a DS. I guess the only way to connect now with your DS is if you use a Nintendo USB connector, but you have to buy those at EB Games or something. Does your router have an AOSS button? That might help you out. :/

i googled the thing that popped up and my router is not allowing wifi connections through..i'm so close but I have no idea how to connect to my router, lol.. anyone?

It could also be because your router's security settings are set to WPI and not WEP. WPI is considered more secure but the DS requires you use a wep key or have no security at all. These settings can be changed by going into your router settings.

edit: I meant WPA >.<

If there are other people using the connection such as laptops, then they will have to re-enter the connection using the wep key.

Your router also should be 801.11b since people have problems with routers that are 801.11g or 801.11b+g.

yeah i'm trying to change my router to WEP. I logged on to my ip website but every time I try and click on a new link such as security it has a page load error and now it won't go back to the website

well..the only problem is if i turn it on WEP than all the other computers in the house but this one can't connect to the internet...so i might have to get a usb cord..
