i mean seriously, check this out:
i've played my saphire game many times over, at least seven times.
each of those times, my game time was over 50 hours; on one it was 250 hours.
I've trained always on wild pokemon, getting at least 4 pokemon to level 100.

And i've never even seen a shiny pokemon!!!! i mean come on!! not even a stupid zigzagoon!

Anyone else who has this luck?

I haven't seen a wild shiny in almost 10 years...not since the original Gold Version where I had a silver Rattata.

Oh. My. Arceus. Am I truly seeing what I think I'm seeing. In the time span of 10 minutes, Not one but TWO different threads from new users about how they can never find shinies.

Seriously. There are no point to these. I've been playing for 10 years. Found only two shinies. It's luck.

Seriously, this is how luck based it is.

1/8192 (2-13, or approximately 0.012207%)

Yeah. Guys. Stop complaining about not being able to find shinies.

And as a word from the wise, don't post threads that have no point but for you to whine about not finding a shiny.

I have seen 2 ever, once a female nidoran, but it was before I knew about the shiny concept lol, so I took it out while I was grinding :eek:hdear:. The second was in the cave before the elite 4 and I caught a shiny golbat. I was pretty excited! But for some reason it was green and pink (not the coolest looking shiny:thumbd:).

I say, why care if you see a shiny?
I mean, they're no different besides color anyways <_<

Shinies are meh. It's always nice catching them, but they never make it into my team anyway. I remember my first shiny was a Sharpedo which I ran into while fishing for Wailord. Anyhow, I caught it, thing was I already had a Sharpedo in my team at a much higher level ...
But anyway, if you really want a shiny that bad, buy Platinum and use the Pokeradar to chain for shinies.

I've been playing the games since the very beginning and have never seen one. It's not a big deal - the differences are purely aesthetic, right? No need to get worked up over something so trivial. :)

Yeah but I don't care otherwise regular or shiny they're still pokemon that we train to be strong

At least in Generation II, shinies got a slight boost in their stats. Now they just look pretty, and the only point in having them is to show off how much of a geek you are. The people with like 20 or more shinies are the people who wasted entire days chaining for them.

The only shinies I've encountered were through pure chance, and if I caught 'em, then yay for me, but if not, then oh well, on with my life. A shiny Wooper ran away from me once, but I'm not combing every inch of the Pastoria Great Marsh hoping to find another one.

Not exactly. You may be referring to D/P as well.

I get what you mean about shinies being easier to find in Gen IV (using the PokeRadar to chain for them).

that patches in platnium turn a lighter green is it wiggles, shines, or sparkles, so it is easier to spot them then in DP.

I don't think the PokeRadar makes it a lot easier. It always stops at 12-13 and I never found a shiny....

You're not doing it right then. Psypokes has a decent guide about how to chain properly. It's a hastle, but it does make it a lot easier ...

No. and if they were female, they got cuts.

Oh, hell, that makes them even more pointless! (For some reason, I could have sworn shinies got a stat increase in G/S/C...maybe it's just 'cause I used my shiny Jynx a lot and she was one of the powerhouses of my team.)

I found one shiny, but a CRITICAL HIT fainted it...
