Yeah, well I plan on starting up a new fic soon, so I just want an opinion. I'm writing a new Avatar: The Last Airbender fic named Avatar: The Legend of Naku.. How well do you think it would do here? And how far ahead or before Aang should it be?

Ahh, stupid me.
The Plot is Naku is separated from everyone he knew at the time of his birth, and being the Avatar this is a bad thing. The fic then starts up with him waking up, underground in the middle of a coal mine. From there I don't want to spoil much.

Not necessarily. It's a parallel more than anything.
Eh, like Lugion said, it's a nice parallel, and it gives a bit of a "not again" vibe.
