Hi everyone! I was just wondering how all of you were introduced to pokemon. As for me, I was just flicking through the channels on the TV, and I came across an episode of Pokemon Advanced. I started to watch it and I gained a liking to it.

I started liking Pokemon after I watched 'Mewtwo Strikes Back'. After that, I love everything about Pokemon.

My brother and I were watching TV one morning before school. He suddenly changed the channel from Sesame Street to Pokemon. From that day, I was hooked.

Honestly, I can't remember. 0.o

That was a really long time ago, but I remember when I first got Red Version. =D It was one of the best days ever! My cousin got it for me for my birthday when I was like... 5? 6? Can't remember.

I vaguely remember coming into school and everyone was looking at something a lad had, a Diglett TCG card.

But I can't remember if this was before or after seeing the cartoon on CITV... then again, I still have tonnes of the older trading cards which came out before the TCG cards (that's what my sig is about).

So..... I'm not sure but it was probably the TV show. It was over a decade ago anyway!

Long time ago in elementary school some kids had a advert ripped out of a magazine or something before Red and Blue came out. I pointed to Gengar and asked something like "What is that guys name?" the kid who brought the ad told me it was "Sting Ray" :)

I got Blue the day it came out.

i was about to laeve my coucins house wen he let me give a shot at ruby i loved it i asked if i could borow it then i moved to georgia(i gave him ruby back) ibegged my mom if i could buy one she got it for me

I had the Nintendo Power that talked about the American release of the game. My brother and I decided that we were going to get it after reading the article. We also had a friend who couldn't wait and got a Japanese copy of the game and an emulator. None of us knew Japanese, so it was amusing trying to play it.

Then they came out and we got our copies relatively close to the launch day. Yellow we got the day it came out.

i was a child in 1998-2001

there you go

Yup, that explains it for me, too. Started watching from the 3rd episode (forgot about wanting to watch the first 2 episodes, lol). I even became friends with a kid mostly because he had a Game Boy and, I think, Red version. Then eventually I got a Game Boy Pocket and Blue version.

I used to get Disney Adventures magazine when I was a kid, and one of the issues had a write up about Pokemon, and after reading about it and finding it awesome, I talked to one of my friends about it, and he agreed that it rocks, so I asked my mom for one of the games for xmas and I got it and yep. :D

I actually saw some of the toys first-- I can remember picking up a Flareon/Eevee figure set from my local Toys R Us a very long time ago. It wasn't until much later that I got my copy of Red and had a chance to play the game.

I was hooked from the start.

I remember watching the good old Season 1 in 1999 when Pokémon was dubbed into Finnish. My friend told me about the games in 2001. He used to have lots of cards (probably around 200-300, maybe even more) and Pokémon Silver.

Me and my brother watched the show on KidsWB and my brother had all the games and the cards and I got hooked on it.
