How will the dub handle the arc after Ash's 8th badge?

So I only watch dub but have heard from friends that the new arc focus on the East Unova section plus a World tournament. My question is due to only have dub titles till Ash's 8th badge do you think they will use the new arc in a new season or us it for the rest of season 15. Reason I ask is I keep hearing the World arc takes place only 5 eps after the switch so if its like a 4 ep arc I don't see why they don't just use it for season 15 since I'm guessing the league is right after and then Unova is done. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just was thinking it would be better to call it part of Rival Destinies and start season 16 with whatever happens post league.

I don't think they will do anything. The BW to BW2 switch isn't huge, its pretty much the same exact saga.

Its not like the Hoenn to Battle Frontier transition, which felt much more like a distinct arc.

It also didn't help that very early on in that transition, we had new dub voice actors.

We won't see anything majorly different, other than a new opening. I'm not quite sure why you would expect there to be a significant change in the dub. It'll just roll on as per usual.

Yes, but they also went as far as to change the main characters teams at the time and try to rebrand it as a whole new journey in fake!Kanto. Here with BW2 Ash hasn't even entered the Unova league yet.

The title "Rival Destinies" matches with the World Tournament, therefore it doesn't need a name change or transaction to another season.

Ah ok was not sure if it was a huge change since in japan they branded it as "Season 2" making me think it was some big deal. Good to know they will just air the new arc in October.

So even less reason for there to be any significant change, be it in Japanese or dub.

The dub will continued to be plagued by terrible music replacements. I get the feeling that this so-called contract or whatever isn't going to expire anytime soon.

I don't mind since I enjoy the dub music over the japanese

I think the OP meant like if there'd be a new season or something due to BW2 and the new Opening.

Yeah, they'll likely just continue the arc within the current season, especially since this season doesn't consist of that many eps right now. Even if I were to include all the titles we currently know for the arc in Japan, Rival Destinies would be 42 eps. That kinda makes me concerned for where the dub season WILL end. If the Junior Tournament is the same length as the Don Battles, we could be at 45 eps by then. There's still room for filler before the League actually begins, though. That'd be kinda odd, starting a new season with the League. That's never happened before.

Can you please explain to me why? Just curious that's all. I just want to get this over with so I can get back on topic. thank you very much.

Well I don't hate the Japanese music but I grew up with the dub so I don't mind the dub. Plus since I only watch dub I don't really know much of the original music. I mean I have heard some but I feel more into it hearing the Dub them instrumental over the japense opening instrumental. Only time I wanted the Japanese was when they played Advanced Adventure in the 4kids dub since I love that one song.

Its not like the Hoenn to Battle Frontier transition, which felt much more like a distinct arc.

And even that didn't get a new season but started during Season 8
Though that was in the 4Kids says where they refused to ever break the 52 eps rule... if it'd be in the TPCi days I could see them cut short S8 to start BF in a new season
Anyway, as you said, "Best Wishes Season 2" isn't even close to how the BF was a new saga, it's a direct continuation of the Unova journey and the dub has absolutely no reason to do anything special for it, they'll most likely just continue it as part of Season 15
The whole "Season 2" thing is pretty ridiculous and random and was obviously done for the sake of playing off the "2" in the games titles and create excitement, nothing more than that...

That'd be kinda odd, starting a new season with the League. That's never happened before.

Season 6's first 12 eps were the last 12 eps of Johto which pretty much means we did start with the League
Season 3 also had about the first 11 eps being the final ones of Orange which included the Orange League

It seems to me that TPCi, under the fairly reasonable assumption that Best Wishes would run for about 190 episodes (seeing as OI+Johto was 191 eps, AG was 192 and DP was 191) cut seasons down to 48 episodes each to avoid a repeat of Diamond and Pearl where they were left with a really short season (seeing as 4 seasons of 48 episodes gives you 192 total) - so Rival Destinies will continue as it is, and end at BW096.

Argh, the dub and it's crazy divisions. Ok, so they did do it before. I also looked back as to how long the fourth season of DP was, and it was only 34 eps. Rival Destinies is indeed set to run longer than that at 36 eps if we exclude where the Meloetta/Tournament arc begins. That was a special situation, though, since a gen was ending, and it would be too odd for a season to be more one gen than the other. The only reason they would do it is for it's own sake. If they do, I will still question why they want to pretend this is a new saga at all when it isn't. I don't think even kids are that stupid.

Just because I don't want to see it in any capacity anymore, any talk related to the dub music vs. the original music must go in its debate thread.

Yeah, I can see a title change and new theme song. Ain't no big thing.

There will probably be a new season and theme song just so they can show Dawn in the opening.

Based on the length of the past two dub seasons, TPCi can make a season as long as it wants. It seems very possible that the dub will make a third season out of the Best Wishes: Season 2 material, even though this will mean that "Rival Destinies" will only be 36 episodes long.
