Most likely warfare or evil machines. That or the sun goes nova and takes us all with it.

It has got to be war for me. Were all too possessive, and too powerful now that we cannot simply start to live as one after all the inequality that flies around between political party to political party.

War, that may or may not involve nuclear weapons. Here in the US at least, we have grown too apathetic towards each other, and would sooner kill you than try to reason with you.

If we reach the moon before the end of this century and establish a permanant colony, I think it will be an extremely long time until the human race ends. Once we're on multiple stellar bodies, it'll be quite difficult to end the species. Although this solar system will disappear in another 6 or so billion years when our sun goes nova...

Joke answer: The Vogon constructor fleets will come in and put an end to our pathetic little planet to make way for an interstellar bypass. Definitely.

Serious answer: To quote a well-known flash video, "We're definitely going to blow ourselves up." And it's not going to even be because we're selfish and are trying to score some oil or money or anything like that. It's going to be because man inherently needs to wage war against itself for whatever reason (needs of a group of people, religious differences, misunderstandings, because we felt like it -- you name it).

Oh, interstellar bypass, definitely. :P

Seriously: Unless, like evkl said, we establish colonies elsewhere, we're going to all be wiped out by our own hand. People have fought each other forever, and the more dangerous our weapons get, the bigger danger there is that someone will decide not only to off the enemy's army, but the enemy's country, and...from there it'll go to hell. :D

There's no "merged with other alternate realities to create a single, more coherent version"? Not even a "retconned" option? And I see an evil machines option, but what about a battle between an evil group and a more benevolent group that inadvertantly leads to the destruction of man, and ultimately the Earth? It could happen.

There's no way that every single human on earth will be killed by war unless it involves literally every nation. There are still bands of hunter-gatherers in isolated areas; they'll survive even in a nuclear war.

I think the human race will live on forever, I dont think about bad stuff. Besides I doubt we ever began, we were always existing, but on another planet and a "god" came to Mexico and brought some of the first people here..... *goes on about her beliefs*

I think Global Warming, water level's have already started to rise, notice America has two hurricane's in the short span of 2 week's? All the consequence of GW. Anyway Steven Hawking said that Machine's could indeed overun the human race, if we arn't careful. Anyway Consequently it is Impossible for the Human Race to live forever, with our stupid intelligence in inventing weapons, human's will probably destroy the world.

The sun doesn't nova. It will burn up all its helium in 5 billion years, expand, and become cooler, and much bigger-after it becomes expands and fries the Earth. Then it will shrink to a white dwarf, then a black dwarf. The end of the sun. But if we establish life on the moon, then on other celestial bodes, then the human race will go on for a long time, like evkl said.

There is always the chance that we'll kill ourselves in a nuclear war, as several countries have the ability to create them, and advanced weapons. Plus, they could easily target the United States due to their hatred of the president and his leadership. Also, there's Overpopulation (which overwhelms the basic concept of Demand/Supply and we could starve to death within the next century), and the quest for renewable energy, as oil will run out within the next century, which means the economy of the wealthy nations will take a heavy blow unless we can utilize wind or hydrogen, and make it easily available to consumers.

Continue.

There are nuclear bunkers of sort owned by many people, so perhaps not every single person would die in a nuclear warfare, although it's probably the most likely scenario anyhow, just depends on which nation!

The interstellar bypass seems likely, it does seem to be the only way to deal with that annoying traffic problem.

Seriously though, I think the human race might make it to the end of the Universe, in fact, by then we will probably have figured out a way to prevent that.

Edit: cleaned up, this is what posting when you are tired will do to you :P

Interesting theory. Human evolution has always meant the advancement of knowledge. We should find a way to prevent mass extinction-at least for the short term-within a few centuries.

And what is an interstellar bypass?

Hopefully, I'll be dead for years and years by the time the world will end.

My guess is that we'll nuke each other off the planet, have a Nuclear Winter, some deadly viurs comes and kills us, metors hit the planet or the global warming.

Or, an alien battleship crash lands on some south Pacific island with technology lightyears ahead of ours. Then, some more aliens come and blast the earth big time!!

It's like a bypass we have, except it goes through space. In "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", the earth is blown up so that one can travel through our solar system.
