I doubt it would be very complicated. Unless you were a professional animator, you wouldn't know how difficult it would be.I think Grave-E once said the Triple battles would be too difficult to animate and keep track of 6 pokemon attacking at the same time, so they may not be featured at all.
We haven't seen proper ones, though. For example, in the games Pokemon on the sides can't fight Pokemon furthest away from them, but the unofficial Triple Battles didn't take those rules into account.Haven't we technically seen Triple Battles in the anime already? You know, whenever Team Rocket sent out multiple of their 'mons at once and Ash and co would do the same?

Perhaps later on the trio will go back to Striaton and meet Cress and Chili again for a triple battle against the three brothers.I thought it would be good to showcase triple battles against the 3 different Gym Leaders, but it seems they decided it's too soon.
But couldn't Pokemon simply exchange positions if this would be done in the anime? The games may restrict Pokemon from either left or right side to attack the opponent Pokemon from the opposite direction, but I'm sure the middle Pokemon or whatever can intercept the attacks to go either way for the anime.
