How would "insert Pokemon here" REALLY behave?

We already have a "what does 'insert pokemon here' really look like?" thread.
Now it's time for a "How would 'insert Pokemon' really behave?"

In the anime Pokemon have pretty basic personalities. They're either good, or they're not. Of course the good, well-behaved Pokemon outnumber the aggressive ones, but would this be true in reality? The Pokedex data in the games only tells us so much.... Would a wild Pokemon, fully aware of it's powers, show fear towards and approaching trainer and run for cover, or would it viciously defend itself?

This thread is not for discussing the brainwashing powers of a Pokeball. Nor is it -only- for discussing how a Pokemon would react to humans. Think of how they'd act among other Pokemon as well.

I'll use one of my favorites as an example of what this thread's all about:

Mews (yes, I do believe there's more than one) may be rare, but I don't think they're anti-social. Just very, very good at hiding. As the Ru/Sa/Em Pokedex's say, they can make themselves invisible at will. I believe these Pokemon live in large groups.

They're probably the most curious of all the legendary Pokemon. Fascinated by humans, and other Pokemon alike. They often approach people to get a better look, but go completely unnoticed because they'll remain invisible the whole time.

I can see the Dark pokemon being very vicious and feral. The kind of animals that can only be handled by professionals. The exception is Umbreon, who evolves by happiness. I don't see it being that vicious. More like a trained attack dog.

For really rare pokemon, like the pseudo legendaries, fossils, and other rare pokes, I would guess training of them is very closely monitored by some authority. The reason being that they are like endangered species. In other words, you have to have a pretty doggone good reason to have a rare pokemon on your team.

For most of the other pokemon, for those that evolve, the more evolved they are, the harder they are to deal with. If you catch a poke while it's still small, however, it should remain easy to deal with for its evolutions if it was trained well. Not only could you end up with a situation like Ash's Char, but it could turn on you as well. For the rest, it will have to depend on how docile you think the pokemon is. Snorlax is pretty laid back, so it should be easily tamable, but pokemon like Zangoose and Seviper are more vicious. They could be difficult to handle.

Finally, the legendaries. I see them as very intelligent creatures. Very reasonable, yes, but get on their bad side, and they will unleash the powers of nature itself on you! I also only see them as especially rare, but they're so powerful that none but the best trainers on the planet can handle them, if they will even allow themselves to be caught at all.

I personaly would think that Legendary Pokemon wouldn't let humans train them because they're aware of their own powers, "know" they're both smarter and stronger then humans, and probley have better things to do then be a human's battle pet.

As for normal wild Pokemon, they seem to be more intelligent and powerfull then our animals in our world. Without the power of a brainwasher (Pokeball), training them can be easier but more risky then taming animals in our world. Easier in the sence that your pokemon understand you faster and better then animals would, but more risky because the majority of them have the power to destroy you and your house at any moment's notice. Training a Machamp and made him mad? Hope he doesn't Karate Chop you or throw you (he can move mountians according to the Pokedex. You probley are not going to fare very well).

The best way to tame a wild poke is to catch them at a low of an age as possible, it might be possible to get them and have them think you're "mommy", so they'll become obediant. Pokemon that are breed should be easier to tame too, since you DID manage to get the mother and father pokemon not to blow your house up. If you have a trusted partner, then evolving it to it's highest power level would go much smoother as it still trusts you.

Um, I dunno what to say mostly cause pokemon are fairly different and most likely unless specified.

But I do perfer to think of them as less intelligent than the anime portrays them.

Lets pick random pokemon:

Illumise: I would think that they behave as bugs in swarms. Not violent but can preform some defensive moves which give it time to escape rather than attack. It most likely moves with volbeat which protect them in a more head-on manner. Most likely eat some plants or fungi.

Muk: Non-violent, and most likely are created from polution and live alone. Probably they move just to collect more filth or polution so unless disturbed most likely won't do much.

Luvdisc: Lives in clusters around corsola reefs. Most likely vegitarian and when confronted try to escape.

Nosepass: No behavior what so ever. They just point north and feed on the metals of aron which are pulled to them by their magnetism. Creation is most likely the same way as most mineral pokemon, I imagine it as the way rocks are created except with parents providing the minerals. Most likely are not together and more spread out as they seem to be not so common as well as the fact that they naturally repel each other.

Pineco: Immobile, most likely feed on the tree they hang on as well as bug pokemon which get near. Most likely together for breeding to happen. Explode for protection and most likely some manage to escape without dieing.

Yeah. Truly random actually.

I think a few legendaries would allow themselves to be trained by humans.
It's like in reality. Some wild animals--geese are a good example--want nothing to do with humans, even if there's food involved. But then there are also some who love being around people. Mostly for the food. XD

I bet at least a few Legendary Pokemon would believe that, while they're indeed very strong already, they could become even stronger with help from a strong human. Of course they wouldn't allow themselves to be caught by a Newbie though.

Hm, I imagine most of them as gods, therefore never being caught. But not as intelligent as us.

That however, is completely contradictory to your way of seeing it which is a fine way. Just not as much fun to imagine.

Heh. I guess it's all opinion really. n_n; I think it's more fun to imagine than the gods thing, but that's just me.
