During the episode "Navel Maneuvers" Misty was constantly flirting with the Navel Island Gym Leader Danny. Even to the point where she winds up ROOTING FOR Danny in his match with Ash.

Now don't get me wrong. I like Misty, but sometimes I don't like the things she does. And I believe she was WAY out of line to show favoritism towards a man she barely knows.

Lesson #1. NEVER root for the Gym Leader unless you have any personal connections with said Gym Leader.

Even Tracey disapproved of Misty's crush on Danny when she expressed disappointment at Danny losing.

What I would have liked had they done so was to have another girl (one closer to Danny's age) greet Danny after he presents Ash with the Sea Ruby badge. Misty would ask if that was Danny's sister, and Danny would confess that the girl is Danny's fiance. Thus effectively putting an end to her crush on Danny for good.

Just imagine the look on Misty's face.

It's a shame they never made the scene though.

How do you think Misty would have reacted had Danny already been taken?

I don't know if I'd say that she was way out of line for showing favoritism for Danny. Her crush on him was clearly suppose to be funny in how she was instantly into him due to being so nice and friendly. It was also obviously just a one episode kind of deal since she never brought him up again. I don't think that Tracey disapproved of her crush per say, but he just reacted to it a couple of times to add more comedy, like when she reacted to Danny losing.

If they Danny did have a girlfriend revealed at the end, then Misty would also just be sad in a comical fashion. I don't think that we were supposed to take her crush seriously.
