How would our society be if Pokémon just appeared out of now where?

They would probably be used for wars, crime, etc. because humans in our world are a lot more evil overall than the Pokemon World.

The government would do some sort of policing and such, outlawing them or killing them altogether.

It would be especially interesting because it has the added element of "But wait, that's a fictional series!" which would put it beyond if, say, someone discovered a dragon den, because dragons aren't something with a known copyrighter or anything.

And of course, converting matter into electrons is currently impossible. There isn't a plausible theory in sight.

Seeing how they would appear in our world, we do not have any scientifically explainable Pokeball or any knowledge whatsoever on how to use/make it. Seeing how Pokemon are smarter and some actually have a lot in common with humans, I doubt it would be treated the same as animals.

Seeing how some, stronger and more fiersome pokemon can be as destructive as can, people will immediately feel threatened. If by this some of the stronger ones are not killed or put under research to later be used, I don't know. Maybe the first few years there will be hunts on the creatures, as to us in the real world, they resemble monsters. After those few years, stuff like Greenpeace shows up and some nature loving people will protect the Animals. Maybe they will be put in special area's or whatever. I don't know.

Some might even befriend us humans, seeing how some Pokemon have friendly natures. But whatever the result, it won't be like in the Pokemon world. That is what I think would happen. =P

Pokémon in real life?


You might want tournaments, elite-4s, gyms, and whatnot, but no. They'll have animal rights. They will be treated as animals, not humans.

In addition, Pokémon, or evols as I call them, will not be as strong as they are in anime. The fact is, it's impossible to shoot lasers out of your mouth, shoot leaves, pump more water than your body volume, break metal with wings, produce ice, visible balls of energy, etc.

Fire is possible, though. Methane chambers are indeed plausible.

In the end, evols will be simply what they are in the real world; maybe smarter, but certainly not a real threat to human superiority.

If anything, they'll be treated as pets, or they be hunted to extinction.

And no, they won't have human level sentience, at least not oversized mice like Pika.

If they appeared in real life, they'd also have to obey the rules of real life

So no, there won't be that much of a difference, unless...

Except in real life you can't produce money out of thin air, and if you could, inflation would totally kill the purpose.

Terroristic societies would try to enslave the Pokémon with the greatest amount of power, i.e. the Dragon Trio and Arceus. The world would then be destroyed.
