i read recently that the johto starters would be the next to get mega evolutions after ORAS however i don't understand why this would happen unless if there is a Z or something along those lines you get given a johto starter instead of kanto but i always thought that if there was a Z then the kalos starters would get mega evolutions and it seems likely that sinnoh will be the next to get remakes(CAN'T WAIT) so those starters would get mega evolutions and we recently had HGSS so i was wondering when or how will they get the johto startes mega evolutions

I would love Sinnoh remakes! Best music of the whole series, IMO.

I hope they do give the Johto starters mega evolutions too; I really need a Mega Typhlosion :)

So... much... run-on sentence...
I think they'll just shove the Johto starters' MegaEvos in whenever they darn well please. Doesn't have to be ANOTHER Gold/Silver remake.

I think the reason for the speculation is because in Pokemon Emerald Version you're given a Johto starter as a reward for completing the Hoenn Dex. So people are hoping that something similar will happen in ORAS, with you receiving the Mega Stone along with it. Something along those lines anyways.

I'd hope they wouldn't do another remake of those games...but perhaps they will fit it into ORAS, or maybe Z (assuming that comes out.) Or it might just be 7th generation instead.

That is definitely interesting speculation, considering how in XY...
- Sycamore gave you a Mega Stone with your Kanto starter
- Korrina gave you a Lucario with its Mega Stone
- Diantha gave you a Ralts with its Mega Stone
- You got Mewtwo's Mega Stone after capturing Mewtwo

Why are you always so negative on all my posts you seem to dismiss all my ideas or our negative about them

I'm a negative person in general, so don't take it personally. Sorry if you are offended by my opinions, but they are what they are.

i read recently

Where to you read that? Yes, it is what most fans assume will happen, but unless we hear something from an official source, it's only speculation.

Though I could be wrong, I believe that the main reason for the distribution of the Johto starters in Emerald is because there was no other way to obtain them in Gen III. Even if it is now easier to complete the Pokedex, I don't think GF will make everyone go through quite a trivial process just to get a mega stone.

If we add side games to the mix you could get a Johto starter as a bonus in Pokemon XD, and you could snag all three in Colosseum (was it before or after Emerald anyway?).

Do you mind mentioning where you read this? I'm certainly praying for a Mega Evo for my first Pokemon that I ever used, Typhlosion. As Life said above, you can't believe everything you read. And it might actually come into play this Gen. I have an idea.

It would be kept totally hidden. Not even official art would be issued until a long while after the game's release. In Emerald, Birch would give you a Hoenn starter after you complete the National Pokedex. How about the same here? (For all those freaking out about Shiny Charm now, I'm sure he'd give you that too, and if there isn't, there's always X and Y to get your shines.) Only he wouldn't even mention the stones when he gives them to you, beyond a vague foreshadowing, maybe something like "These Pokemon have something... special about them! Have fun using them!" I'm going to assume most players will probably interpret this as a good nature or breeding move. The Mega Stones could be programmed to appear as ??? and unremovable before usage, although I'm not sure how. Then, when the day comes, the unknowing player will see Mega Evolve in the Touch Screen...

I personally think this would be cool. It would have that hidden, unknown variable that Pokemon used to have for all of us, and RS is the original Pokemon for many here. It would be cool for people that started in the new fourth generation or even back in Generation 2, looking back upon nostalgia. It isn't very likely though because of Coro Coro. I'm alone on this, but I don't like leaks before the game. It's not fun for me. I am honestly disappointed Mega Metagross was revealed, for example; it should of been kept secret so when Steven used it you would be like "Woah, what the heck!" Anyway, rant over. I hope my ideas make some resemblance to sensical.

Also, not to be rude, GaryOak123, but do you mind at least using capital letters and periods? This isn't texting, I'm sure you have time to correctly punctuate sentences, unless you're using a phone, in which case I'd definitely be able to do the same thing.

Could be an easier way to get a Johto starter in the remake.

It may be as you said that in the next Pokemon XY game you get a Jhoto starter instead. But it could be added at any time, I doubt we'll see a remake of a remake but a sequel in the Jhoto region where you get the megas there.
