How would you like to see the anime improve? This isn't a thread about what you don't like, but what would you like them to improve or add and so on. And don't flame other people for their opinions. I would like the anime to have a more diverse team and be a little more serious.

There's really no place it can go from here unless the writers get rid of the Gym quest.

The only way the anime can change is if the games finally stop the Gym stuff and have a real storyline.

Theres already several threads simular to this one so I'll just copy/Paste my suggestion:

A season with a completely different plot other than Gym badges/contests.

I'm talking an epic tale that once and for all takes down the real team rocket where:
*Giovanni starts things off but possibly gets overthrown (therefore the trio can still work for him after the season)

*powerful trainers (possibly some of the less friendly Gym leaders) become admins.

*Powerful pokemon stolen,

*Old characters returning to help.

*Ash isn't a dumbass and actually dosn't ignore pokemon he has oaked and uses a mix team from different generations.

*Pokemon like Pigeot come back to help at least for a short bit

* The trio team rocket work with the "New" team rocket but fight for "good" when they realize how bad the situation gets but after it is settled they go back to thier normal habits

* Mewtwo appears in the anime for a "Final Showdown", Giovanni afterwards is humbled (either because he was rescued or beaten) and agrees he shouldn't pursue Mewtwo anymore (not in front of the twerps but maybe as a final scene)

I have more ideas too

I would have liked it if the anime started over with a new cast each new generation.

That way, more characters would get screentime, and characters would at least get their stories finished.

It's too late now, but I would still like a more adult Pokemon anime.

Pokemon Special anime anyone?

These are the things which would in my opinion improve quality of said show:
-In my opinion step forward toward improvement would be instead of girl replacing starting with each region everything from scrap(just to left them in past being forgotten after they leave the cast),bringing older character who already has solid groundwork to work with furthering their stories continuing their development.Like for example Misty(considering how her story is unfinished in many areas and reasons exist) providing something new on table bringing breeze of fresh air in current anime(with this i mean not doing contests but something else more connected with her speciality/water with purpose of advancing her goal). Not to mention she would improve quality of character interaction with her interesting personality bringing more life to group. And i do know i sound like a broken record with this already, but this would not just by me(but for what it seems quite a big part of fandom from what i noticed)be a good thing.

-anime sticking little less with games, providing more unique plots bringing some unpredictabillity, like it was the case with earlier seasons(during Kanto and even more during OI where hardly anything was from games).Nowdays especially during Sinnoh series show is following games too close for my taste, loosing on its unpredictabillity in terms of events and storylines.

-have Ash finally win league, which would be some indicator that he made some progress toward his goal, instead of qualifying among top 8 at best starting all over again. This move would at least cut down a little in some way on repetivity.

I might post more ideas later on,but this are the main things which i consider would made this show better.

Have Ash win the league, and then for the next generation replace him with someone else.

How I'd like to see the Anime improve... hmm, let's see.

1. Bring Misty back and expand on her character. I mean, really, she literally was an integrigal part of the show, and was a favorite of both fans of the show and outside of it. Don't believe me or PokemonFan132? Read this:

The book The Japanification of Children's Popular Culture described Misty's portrayal in the anime as a mother figure, calling her a "nurturing component" for the original trio of herself, Ash and Brock.[5] It further described her as an "unusually 'complete' girl of the cartoon world", noting both her feminine sentimentality and her "explosive rage".[6] Anime Classics Zettai!: 100 Must-See Japanese Animation Masterpieces praised the character as being "particularly nuanced" and described her as contributing heavily to the series' appeal.[7] Pikachu's Global Adventure: The Rise and Fall of Pokémon stated that the anime focused on Ash, Misty was a distinctly significant character especially to young female consumers, neither "butch" nor "dizzily feminine", seemingly "carefully constructed to appeal to preadolescent girls".[8] It added that unlike other aggressive female characters in the series, Misty did not sacrifice her femininity to succeed, making the character further popular with young American women, a contrast to Japanese children who focused more on the individual Pokémon species to identify with.[9]

In studies on the reactions boys and girls had to the concept of Misty as a heroine in the series, girls accepted it and were eager to associate themselves with the character,[10][11] while boys attempted to belittle her efforts.[10] On the other hand, children of both genders felt the character alongside Brock gave Ash a sense of identity and moral support, which researchers attributed to the concept of group identity.[12] In another study, children were shown to associate the attributes of attractiveness and aggressiveness, while college students described the character as romantic.[13] Pikachu's Global Adventure additionally stated Misty also served as a source of non-threatening sexuality for both older and younger male viewers, though the context of such was presented in a more subtle for North American localizations of the series.[14]

This isn't opinion that Misty was an extremely popular and integrigal part to the Show. It's a fact, especially given Global Pokemon Adventure [A book written by a university professor], and even a Japanification book acknowledged this fact.

If the writer's really can't bring Misty back, then can't they at LEAST try to give the female main character a role that isn't "Pokemon Contests" so that they don't try do make sexist roles out of genders?

2. Give Tracey even a minute amount of backstory [IE, who are his parents, where is he really from, etc. etc.]. I mean, come on, we barely even know much about the guy. Even Misty has more of a backstory than him.

3. Remove Brock or at least try to not make him seem like the show's resident sex offender (You know, the kind of character that Moe Syszlak, Glenn Quagmire, and [to an extent] Charlie Harper were like). His being a respectable friend, that can stay. Also, try to actually highlight on his status of being the smartest of the group by having him come up with plans to stop Team Rocket, or seeing through their disguises, even. I mean, not that I am upset with Misty for this or anything, but the writers have clearly shown her actually using her reputation of having the brains of the group. Brock hasn't, however.

4. Have Ash actually win a league, or at the very least try to give him a ranking above "Top 8". What annoyed me especially about Hoenn is that, despite his changes, he never got past the Top 8.

5. Actually create a main recurring villain who actually IS a threat or a menace and not a Joke (If even Dragon Ball can do that, so can Pokemon). J's just not enough, and people's perception on Giovanni may be tarnished thanks to Meowth's boss fantasies.

6. Have Ash keep his promise to Pokemon like Pidgeot, for example, or Butterfree, even by visiting them. I can't really say that he should visit Primeape, seeing how that was a dub addition, and if anyone's to blame for making the false promise in the original version, it's the narrator. However, for the rest of his pokemon, he really should use them at least briefly.

7. Actually define what a Pokemon Master is instead of leaving it completely undefined. I don't care if it's meant to be left up to the imaginations of the viewers, as it still needs to be defined so that the goal can be defined. The purpose of a goal is a very important part of even deciding on the goal. Besides, considering how the writers went back on their word on leaving Pikachu's gender anonymous for reasons similar to why they refused to define what a Pokemon Master is, that excuse won't work anymore.

Replace Jessie, James and Meowth with more competent bad guys who will not be in every single episode, replace Brock with Tracey or Max (or both :XD: ), Dawn with May and Dawn's rivals with May's rivals. That would be great improvement for me. Sadly, none of this will happen.
Oh, and introduce third quest next to Gym and Contests to finally get rid of these useless fillers.

1. Ash & Tracey's character development. Seriously we know slim to none when it comes to these guys. Where is Tracey's hometown? Why Ash wants to be a Pokemon Master? Did Ash make any friends in Pallet Town? Who are Tracey's parents?

2. Pokemon Chronicles Season 2.

3. Pokemon movies that uses recurring or old characters.

4. Ash keeping his promises like example visiting Pidgeot & getting Primape back.

5. Ash uses his old Pokemon more often. C'mon, they don't get stronger by just running around & waiting for him to come back.

6. The show becomes more than just gym battles & contests. I mean, Ash is the chosen one.

I would like to see Ash like many have said, visit his old Pokémon. And his father needs to be mentioned more. One episode does not cut it. And more background on characters.

A lot of the things I wanted them to improve have already been done with D&P. But it would be nice to finally see Ash challenge The Elite Four. One thing that will help the U.S. version would be a widescreen broadcast.

I see you missed last US episode, Gligarman. Last Saturday's episode already was in widescreen.
