How would you reintroduce Misty into the series?

If misty could stay how would you reintroduce her intro the new series? Then if it had to be done, if she had to leave again, how would you make her depart?
 
One thing - no contests for her.

If I brought her back, the only way I can conceivably see doing it (seeing as contests = must) is by taking Takeshi's place. Then again, with that prospect, I'd rather she stays in Kanto.
 
After DP ends, Ash and Brock head back to Kanto. Misty says she misses travelling with them. Cue the return to Johto (for whatever reasons). The group will have Soul join them (as the noob trainer)and Leaf will be Ash's new rival.
 
In the next season, show Misty getting tired of gym leading, missing ash, and then getting on her bike and going after him.

Then, as Ash is starting his fifth region, here comes Misty!
 
I know! Here comes two birds with one stone:

Show Misty come back, "Hey guys, I'm back", and all...

And then no later than that, she blurts out, "But I'll never be solidified as a main character ever again!"

And it becomes another cameo in which she leaves at the end of the day.

No but, probably something similar to the above. In Chronicles/the Special, she was all bored with being a gym leader whenever she was featured. So just show her owning some trainer, getting tired of it... She goes into the backroom, sees a picture of her, Ash, and Brock (or just she and Ash for shipping). Show her positive reaction towards the picture, as she begins to reminisce of fond memories.

Then have Brock or Ash, or both, stop by before they set out towards the 5th journey (the ship could set sail from just North, or even Vermillion, I think?)

So as a result, she takes off with them, leaving the gym in charge with her sisters.

If they want to get rid of her at the end, just make sure she emphasizes that it'll only be for so many months (or however long a typical journey is for them) and that she'll be back after.
 
The only way I can see her coming back is if she would replace Brock in the group for whatever reason... but seriously, no chance.
 
Why is it every single time we get to an end of a region, people start making these topics about Misty?

And then every time a new region begins, people act like they're so shocked that she's not a part of it. As if she's really going to get much more than 2 Pallet Town eps like the last time.

Even if Misty were to return (which is next to never), why would she take Brock's place?

Do you honestly expect her to cook and clean for the group?

100% agree.
Misty could do Contests. She is a water gym leader like Juan, and water is supposed to be about beauty and stuff, she could well do it.

The writers would never reunite that group again for both advertising reasons and story reasons.

Apparently people here act as if they don't know the reason Misty was removed, and why the cameos mid-region have stopped.

Why was she removed, why did they stop her cameos???
I just thought it was so they can show the player girl from the games.

Why was she removed?
 
Missing Ash, Brock and Pikachu, she goes ahead and finds them, blah blah, everything that has been said previously. Then she joins a contest thinking "Oh, hey, I'm beautiful I can so do this." She dresses up like a Mermaid, goes to let out some beautiful Pokemon, but then Psyduck comes out and gets scanned or something and they enter the beauty contest together herp derp. She fails horridly and decides she's gonna stick with the group until she wins a contest. Finally, a practical use for Psyduck!
 
The original trio was never used again because the Johto seasons were immensely disliked by the fanbase. This has been common knowledge in the fandom for the last 8 years, why do fans act as if they've never heard this before?

Bulbapedia credits Johto as "the worst arc of the series"

They gave her the Tracey treatment and in addition to that, probably aren't going to give her mid-region cameos anymore.

Bullshit. i loved Johto. And so did a lot of other people.

Um, let's think. Because a lot of people like her, and she's good advertising, especially if Kanto is in HGSS.

Would you like to explain why Bulbapedia and Dogasu credit it as being so?

Its been like 8 years since Johto ended, and you still see people complain about it. I think that says a lot. The writers revamped the series entirely afterward and never looked back.

When I said that I meant there is no difference between Misty and Tracey anymore.

What is the difference? They're both former main characters who only appear around Pallet Town reunions. Technically I'd throw Max into this as well since he's been sidelined the same way.

Because this is life where people always have to have something to complain about. I had no issue with Johto. Best theme songs in my opinion. Plot was a lot like the last bit. Course, I was a kid when it was on and you know, the show is aimed at kids. Who don't care too much about plot or whatnot. But I liked it.
