Greetings everyone!

So I finally decided to start an account here the other day and thought I should create the mandatory introduction thread here as well. I believe a short description of myself is in order:

I am a young man from Scandinavia (you know, where wild Beartics and Cubchoos roam the streets), who has been playing these games all the way back since the beginning (blue was my very first game of the series). I've been using Bulbapedia as a source of news and information for a few years now, but I never visited these forums until the start of this year, with the revelation of X and Y (since then I've practically been stalking the forums daily :) ).

I have to say the main reason I joined these forums is because I wanted to add some friends on my 3DS (for the Friend Safari of course!), the benefit of being able to participate in discussions on this site is a bonus! :)

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community and I hope I will be able to contribute with something along the way!

(Oh, and a last bit of worthless information: I always pick the water starter ;-) )

Welcome to the forum, Doggelicious! Hope you enjoy being a part of this forum and get lots and lots of friend codes!

(Check my signature out to get started, if you'd like ;-). My Friend Safari is kind of lame but it's something xD)

Hi, welcome to BMGF. If you want to add friends to your 3DS we have a thread in the X/Y section exactly for sharing friend codes, so please do check it out. I hope you'll enjoy the community here and please do participate in the discussions. Have a great time here.

Thanks guys!

So I'm still not really used to the whole forum thing yet, so I thought I'd ask a few questions here! :)

First of all, if I'm replying in a thread (like I am right now), do I have to tag or quote someone in order for them
to see it? If so, do I just use the quote button above the "writing field" or how does it work?

Second, about Friend Codes: if I'm not mistaken, do both parties have to add each others Codes for the registration to work?

And I can really recommend Scandinavia to any of you who like to travel, you should visit any of the countries here at least once,
if you have the opportunity!

Thank you in advance!

No, they can see your reply in a thread even if you dont quote or mention a person, however if you do so, they will get a notification, so if you want someone to see something, this is useful to do. To quote another post, simply press the "Reply with Quote" button on the bottom of the post you want to quote and if you want to quote multiple posts, press the Multiquote button(on the far right, right next to Reply with Quote) on each post you want to quote, this allows you to quote multiple posts in one post of yours.

About Friend Codes, you can register a friend code even if they havent registered you, but they will be a Provisionally Registered friend until they do so, and they wont show up under Friends in your PSS until then.

All right! That's exactly what I wanted to know! :-D

Now I hope I'm not being too annoying here, but I tried to add a profile picture and I made sure that the size was bellow 120 KB
and it managed to upload just fine, I can even see it on My Profile. However it isn't showing up on my messages... Is it because the
dimensions are bigger than 120x120 pixels (I thought the picture either had to be smaller than 120 KB or have dimensions smaller than 120x120)?

Thanks once again!
