After Brock left Ash and Misty in the Johto episode "Gotta Catch Ya Later," the young Gym Leader returns to his home in Pewter City to find that his gym has been turned into a water-type gym by his mother! Can Brock fulfill his father's request to take back the gym and return it to its former glory?

In Japan, this episode aired between the Pokemon Advanced episodes "A Ruin with a View" and "There's no Place Like Hoenn."

From now on, Brock shall be known as "Herbert."

I guess this will be Chronicles' trial by fire, or whatever it's called. If they get the names and voices right here, the rest of the show will fare well. If they give Flint a new dub name, the rest of the episodes will be rather badly done. If they give BROCK a new dub name... the show is doomed forever. And if they make Brock a girl...
Ouch.

Oh dear Flint's voice has changed, it's almost as bad as Eugene's now with it being completely toffed up and everything. His old voice back in "Showdown in Pewter City" was definitely better, I hate to complain but it was extremely off-putting.

Asides from that the episode was good, full of silly pranks and good humor. Seeing Brock get upset was funny, since his mom wanted a girly water gym, with girly decorations everywhere, but thankfully Brock won the battle against his mom and restored some pride in the gym.

It appears Forest is as almost as bad as Brock is when it comes to women (they start early then), with him apparantly having a crush on all the girls in his class lmao.

Jiro = Forest

Mizuho = Lola (pronounced Low-la)

For reasons best known to themselves, they edited out the bit with Brock throwing out his Geodude and Crobat. So yet again people who didn't see the original version are going to be left questioning about their where abouts from now on.

The ending music during that scene was taken out as well, and replaced by what is heard during Hoenn nowadays (which I personally don't think is as good). Other than that I think it was well dubbed for the most part.

I have both versions, so I'll check for other edits later on.

I Know I Don't Live in the UK But I Can't Wait Until it Hits the US Shores I Hope They Did Not Change Brock's Name or Voice if So That Would Be Stupid :rolleyes:

That's what I would have thought but at least try to make him sound like before. He sounds more like the new Eugene with his crappy pompus voice. I mean, they did the new Nurse Joy voice alright, so I don't know why they could get close with the old Flint as well, but meh, they probably forgot his father even existed.

Whaaaaat? Wasn't that the whole point of the episode to begin with? To provide a reason for Brock to "start fresh"? That's kinda ridiculous. But wait, you didn't mention Onix...I'm confused.

Could be. We know Onix stayed with Forest since Brock fought with his mother using it, and then told it to "teach Forest a thing or two and stick around" (as oppose to actually giving it to him, although I'm not sure if he ever did give it to him in the original).

A lot of music edits, battle music against his mother was completely different to what we heard in the original. And of course there was a 21 second cut with Brock telling Onix to stay and then looking on with Forest at his mother and father in love, missing out on Crobat and Geodude's crucial appearances altogether.

Hopefully it was a time edit, Toonami edit the life out of things anyway. Sure for the original animé they never play "who's that pokémon" or even the theme song sometimes.

Also about Flint's voice.. keep in mind that Ash sounded way different in that episode than he does now. As does Brock. So it could very well be the same actor.

Also, Jiro - Forrest? Me very like. Lola also seems fitting for some reason, however I do seem to associate that a lot with the RBY Jynx :O

However, did they keep the story around his mother?

No, they haven't subbed them (yet, the pressure is there), but they've dubbed them.

I can't believe you missed the outcry over the hack job they did on Legend of Thunder. But it seems that the quality has greatly increased with this.

Toonami's web site says Tracey is a women and Jessie is a boy. And Gary is a evil trainer.............

I hope these edits are only in the Toonami version!

The Sky Guide thinks that Hun and Atilla are new members of Team Rocket! But the actual episode got that right.

I thought this was a good, and funny, episode. But then, I liked "Legend of Thunder"...

Did anyone notice they used the Master Quest title card for this episode? I suppose they must have done that in the original, but it seems weird to use.
