Pokemon Chronicles Episode 16: "Luvdisc Is A Many Splendored Thing"

Love is in the air in Cerulean City, as Misty and Daisy both have a new Luvdisc. However, only one of the Luvdisc is in love, which could cause problems for Daisy's water ballet. To make matters worse, Cassidy and Hutch steal the Luvdisc so that Professor Nanba can rid the world of love!

In Japan, this episode aired between the Pokemon Advanced Challenge episodes "Clamperl and Spoink! Seek the Pearl!" and "Relicanth and the Deep Sea Treasure", (whose dub titles will be the next to be revealed.)

I can't believe no one has made a topic for this yet! Come on, it's a Misty episode! Not only that, it is the shippy episode!

Though as the narrator says at the beginning, "No, it isn't between Misty and Tracey", (he really does say that!) In fact, it seems to be more Tracey/Daisy. Is there a name for that ship?
 
I was just waiting for somebody to create the thread!

The good thing about this episode was that there wasn't actual shippyness between Misty and Tracey, it was just a combination of somebody's dream and the narrator needlessly hinting it a bit at the start.

Ugh, overall it was a good but I'd wish they'd keep the other Butch name consistent like they do in the original version, calling him Bip, Hutch, and Buffy sounds stupid like the character's have poor memory or something. Also why were Team Rocket so intent on stopping the existance of love in the world? Was that the main reason why they captured the luvdiscs in the original version as well? Seems pretty lame.

Overall the episode was funny, all characters contributed to some sort of humor, even Daisy thinking she was a movie burning rubber on her car lol! Yeah, defo one of the better chronicles one's.

PS: Misty's outfit's much hotter in this one than in her other Hoenn one.
 
What exactly does the narrator say at the beginning? I haven't been able to watch any Chronicles eps past Oak-napped, alas. :(
 
Misty seems to be more intent on giving love advice than having it herself. And she definately sounds like she is talking from experience. So there is more Pokéshipping than Orangeshipping. So Misty may not have completely given up on Ash yet.
(Which makes sense baring in mind her return to Pallet Town a season later.)
And we should have seen Tracey/Daisy back in "A Date With Delcatty", really!

So how much Neoship is in this, anyway? With a plot involving Luvdisc...
 
Daisy thinks Tracey would make a cute Prince Charming in the Water ballet. Misty and Tracey refuse to do it.
 
I rather like what the dub did in terms of changing Daisy and her sisters into airheads...it really gave them that "above Misty" feel in The WaterFlowers of Cerulean City. It gives her character instead of being "generic Misty sister".
 
Watching Daisy in Pokémon Chronicles, she must have some of that in the Japanese version, surely. (I could see if it was exagerrated but it can't all be dub added.)

I love Daisy's character because she's crazy. :p
 
Ahahahahhaa. Dogasu confirmed the anti-Orange line the narrator says was dub added.

The more I hear how much Chronicles was changed, the more and more I LMAO.

Eldershipping and Handymanshipping were dub added in the various Hoso's, but the Orangeshipping is all in the original.

ROFFLE.
 
I'm stating facts, not insulting anyone. Chronicles added dub hints for the wrong ships for some odd reason.

Maybe Brits are more polite than New Yorkers, but this is the norm here,
 
The line about Oak's poem and the Bulbasaur thing at the end of... the Oak Corral episode? Dunno. ^^;
