Hugh, Jasmine, and Kabu debut new Academy Sync Pairs in Pokémon Masters EX alongside launch of the latest Academy Event, Learning and Relaxing

Three new Sync Pairs featuring trainers in different styles of academy outfits are all making their debuts in Pokémon Masters EX today alongside the launch of the game's latest Academy Event, Learning and Relaxing. Players will receive Hugh (Academy) & Pignite simply for starting the event, while Jasmine (Academy) & Forretress and Kabu (Academy) & Camerupt make their debuts in separate Costume Scouts.

Academy Event: Learning and Relaxing
In this new Academy Event running through to December 1st, at 9:59pm (PST), Hugh and Jasmine attend Pasio Academy together under two new members of the teaching staff, Kabu and Miriam.

Academy Events are a new type of event for 2025 that were added to Pokémon Masters EX with the conclusion of the Academy Founding Chapter. In these events, players will team up with an Academy Sync Pair, who initially only knows a single move. All Academy Sync Pairs will be released starting at Lv. 140, with the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock an EX Role. Over the course of the event, as players battle and interact with other Trainers at the Pasio Academy, they will acquire exclusive Sync Orbs and TM Orbs to upgrade and customize their Academy Sync Pair with different Passive Skills and moves. The amount of items that players can acquire is limited, so players will need to think long and hard about exactly what kind of Sync Pair you want to raise their Academy Sync Pair to be. If you get it wrong or want to try out another combination though, there's no stress! Players are free to can complete and replay each Academy Event as many times as they like over the course of the event until they get the Sync Pair of their dreams, however every time the event is restarted the Academy Sync Pair's upgrades will also be reset. Each time the event is fully completed, players will receive 4× Academy Sync Pair Custom ★ Power-Ups for the event's featured Sync Pair, with any excess able to be traded in the exchange. Each Academy Event will also include a set of exclusive stories, which appear at random, giving players another incentive to repeat the event if they've not yet managed to unlock every single one.

Each Academy Event will run over 12 rounds, with midterm exams being held in round 6, and a final exam in round 12. Regardless of if players pass or fail the exam, the event will continue.

During your Academy Experience, Academy Sync Pairs will have a special In-Training Sync Grid. After completing the Final Exam, players will be able to select the Sync Grid they'd like to retain as their completed grid for the Sync Pair, which will then apply from then on when the pair is used outside the Academy Event.

The featured Sync Pair for this latest Academy Event is 5★ Hugh (Academy) & Pignite. All players will unlock Hugh (Academy) & Pignite along with 400 gems immediately after completing the opening cutscene, Ms. Miriam's First Aid, in the event.

Similar to regular Story Events, players will receive an increased amount of bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates for this event are as follows:

Jasmine (Academy) & Forretress, and Kabu (Academy) & Camerupt: +100% (×2.0) bonus rewards
Hugh (Academy) & Pignite: +50% (×1.5) bonus rewards
Rosa (Academy & Deerling), Rei (Academy) & Braviary, Florian & Lechonk, Marnie (Academy) & Cyclizar, Morty (Academy) & Typhlosion, Brendan (Academy) & Marshtomp, Iris (Academy) & Lapras, and Gladion (Academy) & Porygon-Z: +30% (×1.3) bonus rewards
All other Johto and Galar Sync Pairs: +10% (×1.1) bonus rewards

These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Hugh (Academy) & Pignite, and any two other Johto or Galar sync pairs would grant a combined +70% (×1.7) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:

To participate, unlock Hugh (Academy) & Pignite's 6★ EX status, or unlock Hugh (Academy) & Pignite's EX Role, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.

Log-in Bonuses
Academy Event: Learning and Relaxing includes an extra set of log-in bonuses. The Academy Event Support Log-In Bonus will be held twice, with up to five days of rewards each time:

First Run: November 14th at 9:59pm (PST) through November 21st at 10:59pm (PST)
- Days 1-5: Stamina Ticket
Second Run: November 21st at 9:59pm (PST) through November 28th at 9:59pm (PST)
- Days 1-5 Stamina Ticket

Gem Specials
In conjunction with the launch of this Academy Event, the following three Gem Specials will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until November 15th, at 9:59pm (PST):

Academy Costume Scouts
Jasmine (Academy) & Forretress and Kabu (Academy) & Camerupt are making their debut in separate sets of Costume Scouts alongside the launch of the Learning and Relaxing Academy Event. The Jasmine Costume Scout, Jasmine Costume Tiered Scout, Kabu Costume Scout, and Kabu Costume Tiered Scout, will run through until December 1st, at 9:59pm (PST). The associated Jasmine Costume Featured Ticket Scout, Jasmine Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout, Kabu Costume Featured Ticket Scout, Kabu Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout, meanwhile will run through to December 8th, at 9:59pm (PST).

The Jasmine Costume Scout and Kabu Costume Scout each give players bonus presents for the first three times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11, awarding Support and Strike Move Candy Coins each time respectively. Both Costume Scouts also include daily discounts, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. These daily discounts can each be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

In addition to the regular Costume Scout, players can also take advantage of a a Jasmine Costume Tiered Scout and a Kabu Costume Tiered Scout. These scouts have ten tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11. Players are able to scout once on each tier by using Paid Gems, with the amount of gems increasing with each tier. Additionally, Tiers 5 and 10 of each grant the player special tickets to use in the associated Jasmine Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout and Kabu Costume Featured Ticket Scout.

In addition to the Jasmine and Kabu Costume Scouts, Trainers can also take advantage of two separate Presents! Limit 1! Scouts focused on each of these sync pairs. As the names suggest, these whopping ×25 Scouts requiring 5,000 paid gems can only be used a single time each, and will only be available for an extremely limited time, running until November 15th at 9:59pm (PST).

Gym Emotes
Special Gems with Gym Emotes offers are available from the in-game shop, allowing players to obtain Hugh (Academy), Kabu (Academy), and Jasmine (Academy) Gym Emotes as presents. These offers, which comes with 250 paid gems, can each be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until November 15th at 9:59pm (PST).
