Hunter x Hunter ending, how will Gon end up?

So I'm wondering how Gon will end up for Hunter x Hunter.
I'm going to be contemplating over how Gon will end up and the series will end.

I know the show is over. Twice. But the manga is still going. (If you want to know why, ask the author.)

I mean, the series is dark. Killua is an assassin. Hisoka is a murderer. But Hunter x Hunter has light moments too. Will Gon join his father? Will he become a beast master? Will Hisoka kill him? The author can either go for a screw-the fans over ending, a sad/dark ending, a middle ending, and a sort-of good but well earned ending. I'm just wondering how the series will end up.
