Something occurred to me a while back. In DP, Hypnosis' accuracy was 70, while in Platinum it was changed back to 60.

My question is that if one were to battle, DP vs Pt, then what would the accuracy of hypnosis be? Would it be separate for each game i.e. DP players would have more accuracy, while Pt players would have lower?

Anyone know?

I don't really know but I guessing the accuracy is set when whoever sends the request to battle. If someone using Platinum asks the person using D/P to battle, it will be 60 is the other way around it will be 70. I think someone asked this a while back, not sure, but this is my idea anyway

I assume it has to do with whether the hit/miss status is transferred to the DS receiving the attack, or if just the attack itself is transferred.

Option 1:
Platinum's Drowzee uses Hypnosis.
Pokémon Platinum uses the 60% accuracy to designate a miss.
Pokémon Platinum sends the message "Drowzee used Hypnosis and misses" to Pokémon Pearl.
Pearl's Flareon is unaffected.

Option 2:
Platinum's Drowzee uses Hypnosis.
Pokémon Platinum sends the message "Drowzee is using Hypnosis" to Pokémon Pearl.
Pokémon Pearl uses the 70% accuracy to designate a hit.
Pearl's Flareon falls asleep.

Nope. Depends on who is hosting the battle. If I set up the game room, then its the Pearl Accuracy ( I have pearl). But if someone who has platinum sets it up then its Platinum's accuracy. Its the host game that matters. not the host attackers.
