Review HZ072: Pursuit! The Search for Basagiri!!

Definitely the big build-up episode to Kleavor's encounter next week but it's fun to see quite a variety of Pokémon appearing as well as spending some time with photo loving Perrin.

The calm before storm buildup for Kleavor's of the six heroes in order for searching the clues of he's about. Which Houndour, Houndoom, Trevenant, Mandibuzz and Shiftry bar the crew way for the search. Thankfully, they success fend them off and reach it location. Battling one of them is descent enough to show right after Roy and his partner, Crocalor fall down into underground. Conclusion, the episode is great.

Overall rating: B+

Only funny scene, when Dot and Perrie walking around after being hit by Wild Trevenant's Confuse Ray:

I liked how the theme of the episode was how each of the kids has grown, or "evolved" over the course of their journeys.

Liko using Hattrem to detect emotions was a good use of her powers, and lets her get a little more screentime.

Roy remembered that Kilowattrel existed when he had to battle, but didn't think to fly out of that crevice, and once the battle was over, went back to climbing rocks anyways. I'm glad Kilowattrel got to do something at least, I thought he wasn't gonna show up.

Dot just like me fr fr. I don't know know who in the writing team found out everything about me in the last few years, but it's like Dot & Goh were made specifically to target my emotions and struggles. Her speech was a little too relatable.

Everyone gets separated due to various incidents except Dot and Sazare, who stick together. They find clues to track down Kleavor, and they come back together. Kleavor finds them, but they don't notice and it doesn't get their attention.

Mostly set up but still entertaining, especially Dot and Sazare's interactions.

I guess that would eliminate part of the "conflict" of the episode? Either that, or Roy just isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

As am I, I'm always glad when my boy Kilowattrel gets to appear!

Roy is just not very intelligent. However, apart from this issue, I think that there would not be enough space in this gap for Kilowattler to fit there.

yeah especially given how big kilowattrel is, being able to handle both roy and crocalor at the same time n all. also considering how itd basically have to fly straight up from a standing position in that tiny ass cave.

I found this episode to just be kind of....unnecessary. I really don't see why we needed this journey to Kleavor with everyone getting split up and all over the place. A pack of Houndoom to distract Friede? Roy and Crocalor falling into a pit? Dot and Perrin getting lost and confused by a Trevenant? A Mandibuzz carrying a freaking Shiftry to attack Roy totally unprovoked???? It all just felt so forced and bizarre. 3/10 and that's being generous.
