Review HZ111: Get Stronger, Aim Higher

So it looks like we're going to Blueberry Academy next after the Kalos mini arc. Can very much see this being a lot like the Paldea training arc so it'll be quite exciting to see the Blueberry crew in anime form.

As for this episode Amethio being back in action was badass and the interaction with his father was pretty sweet too. Liko and the crew also failed to save any of the Heroes with their Pokémon getting defeated so another downer ending for them but a glorious victory for the Explorers.

It's a meh end to what has been the weakest arc in the series for me. Hate to say it but aside from some stuff like Dot's great episodes and especially Amethio's stuff I've not been all that impressed with this timeskip phase of the series so far. Still don't care for Uruto, Roy's been downgraded to being so boring and there's a certain something that felt missing from Mega Voltage the other arcs had. I really had been enjoying Horizons up until now so here's hoping the next arc is where it gets it's groove back and reaches the same heights it did for me before because it'll be very disappointing if this is where the series coughs, splutters and eventually runs out of gas.

What a disappointment conclusion of the Arc. Which they all back to where it all started can't save anyone due to not strong enough as Uruto incapable enough in dire situation. Despite, Amethio came to the rescue. Which now Spinel more sadistic to showing how five of the six heroes remain by his hands with continue of the Laquium effect.

Now, they all heading to Blueberry Academy to train more harder. Sadly, we won't see that till the three special episode of timeskip at Kalos. When Roy and Uruto met before the Mega Voltage took place.

Overall rating: B -

While They weren't able rescue the six heroes, at least Uruto met Hamber, Cervantis and Amethio for the first time

Horizons Hiatus and the TV Tokyo Top 40 Special Next Week

Despite the rather lame way that this arc ended, I am, at least, glad that the battle ended in what is essentially a draw. Still, the aftermath of the battle felt rather odd. The Explorers just cart everyone up and leave as if nothing happened, and the Volt Tacklers just lick their wounds until Briar calls them and says that she knows a place where the kids can train to get stronger. I assume that Amethio is going to travel around to find more Zygarde cells during the next arc. Heck, he might even meet up with Friede and help him out of his situation.

As Always As the Adventure/Journey Continues (in Chapter 115) Chapters 112-114 are the Between-Timeskip Episodes

Stay Tuned on October 10th for Chapter 112: What did Roy Do During the Timeskip or How Roy got his Mega Groove

End of Chapter 111

(I Don't say To Be Continued because it's absent in the English Dub, i rather say End of Chapter n because it's just like the UK with End of Part One/Part Two)

So, the Explorers got the 6 heroes excluding Rayquaza of course. Amethio now has his dad's Zygarde and more than ever, that final fight is gonna happen against Spinel and with today's news, that's only looking more and more likely.

I concur. And I hope it is, too, the Terastal Training arc was the only arc of Horizons that I actually liked.

And when that thing comes back and inevitably Mega Evolves.....this wannabe "villain" is finished.

I'll highly doubt that Rising Again Arc is going to be the repeat of Terastal Debut Arc. Which Liko, Roy, Dot and Uruto going to pile more L streak only this time against Crispin, Amarys, Lacey, Drayton and Kieran. At this point, the title should just renamed as "Falling" Again instead of "Rising". Spinel wannabe "Villain" pretty sure is another dimensional being. Otherwise, how he obtain so many information against every single one around the world. It truly beyond mean. More like it should "God" wannabe.

I was not thrilled with this episode honestly, because of its somewhat uneven pacing.

Amethio reconciling with his father was the best part of the episode to me. Also, Amethio looking for Zygarde would have deserved to be a half of an episode by itself tbh.

And also, now would be a great time for the crew to actually...look for Friede? He could have taught them about battling, is a researcher with an established name, he would be a great help in fighting against Exceed. And yet no one even mentioned him. Makes me feel bad for poor Friede, forgotten so easily.

Spinel made himself a king, he already has a throne, the strong sphere as the royal
orb, now he only needs a scepter and a crown

Compared to the other arc finales, this one was very lackluster.
You'd expect it to end bombastically like how the other arcs did, but it didn't.
There are no twists, other than Amethio showing up with White Zygarde and not contributing much.
This arc mainly just feels like it's testing the waters with what they can do with a time skip--an experimental arc at that.
It's definitely the weakest arc finale.
Though, I'm anticipating the next arc because people had wondered if we were going straight to Kalos, but it seems that we're stopping by BB Academy first and then Kalos for the grand finale.

Episodes 112-114 are going to be what happened during that yeear-long timeskip after the events of Episode 89 and before the events of Episode 90

I know, but given that Legends Z-A will be coming out soon, they're definitely going to do a 7th arc that takes place in Kalos as the mini-arc will definitely be a build-up for the grand finale.

On the brink of defeat, Amethio (sporting a new haircut and outfit) appears to save the day alongside Zygarde (in 10% form). Liko having Ceruledge use Bitter Blade gently on Charcadet to activate Flash Fire to boost their power was really smart of her. Ult struggles to battle in the face of the Five Heroes' strength, but is able to execute a clever strategy thanks to Roy, however the power difference begins to weigh on everybody. Sango has Glalie Self-Destruct, because of course she does. Liko makes a last ditch plea for the Heroes to stop, coinciding with the Raqurium wearing off, upon which they are promptly recaptured, ending on a complete failure for the RVTs (with Dot arriving too late to help).

Amethio and Crave reunite and have an short argument. Crave feels powerless to stop Spinel now that he is in charge of Exceed. Amethio is able to convince Crave to take a stand and the two decide to assist each other in stopping the Explorers' plan. Amethio, Crave, and Hamber depart together, with Amethio stating that their paths will meet again as long as the RVTs continue to oppose Spinel.

In the aftermath of the battle, Ult is pained by his lack of strength that resulted in their total defeat by the Five Heroes, and resolves himself to go on a training journey to get stronger, intending to leave the RVTs due to his self-perceived weakness supposedly holding the team back. However, the rest of the kids decide that they all feel the same way and that they'll train together to become strong enough to rescue the captured Heroes. Right as they make this resolution, Briar finally returns their call and invites them all to come visit her at Blueberry Academy (hanging up before they can even respond, might I add). Liko says Anne is already studying there as an exchange student (Anne really gets around, huh?) Dot states that Blueberry Academy has a focus of Pokémon Battle training and they all decide to see if they can improve their skills even further, while at the same time learning more about Pagogo so that they can purify the Raquium for good. We're heading back to school, folks.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the Terastal Debut arc of the series, so I'm hoping Rising Again is better. Mega Voltage as a whole was honestly more of a set-up arc where we reunite the separated RVTs after the loss of Friede and the introduction of Ult as a character. The finale being more lowkey kind of reflected that to me.

First thing first, we have to see the three-episode flashback arc to how Roy met Ult and his Shiny Lucario, and how they attained Mega Evolution. Unfortunately, we have to wait 20 days for that, and over a month for Rising Again to begin.

I liked how in the midst of battle, Liko, Roy and Ult were remembering some of their past fights and using similar strategies to handle the Five Heroes. This could have worked pretty well... if they didn't forget Arboliva existed and Fire Spin only lasts a short time. I didn't think even Amethio would have all his Pokemons wiped out, though. This was a crushing defeat, every single Pokemon of Liko/Roy/Ult/Amethio was knocked out, this was a bigger defeat than any other in the series so far. The only way they could have sank lower is if Spinel decided to use his weird tractor beam drones to capture everyone (but as expected, he think he's invincible at this point, his ego will eventually cause his demise).

The post-battle scenes were nice, Crave and Amethio interacting was really good, Amethio is taking seriously what Liko taught him before. Ult managed to make me believe for a second he was really going to leave the RVTs to train.

I'm hopeful for the next arc. I wasn't a fan of Terastal Debut but it had some of the best fights in all of Horizons. Though as we know, Blueberry puts the emphasis on 2VS2 battles, and that's a good AND a bad thing in term of animation budget, those could be either amazing or really sloppy. I hope we're going to get some more evolutions for the gang, including somehow finding an Auspicious Armor for Charcadet.
