Anne invites Liko along for "Metamon Block Hunting", during which she ends up doing some battle training against Anne's Daikenki. When Liko notices that Tebrim doesn't seem to be doing what it actually desires to do out of consideration for Masquernya and Carbou, she gently tells it that it can do what it wants to. However, Anne seems to have her own thoughts on this?

If nothing else, it is nice to get a Liko, Hattrem, and a somewhat surprisingly Ann focused episode.
 
to be fair, they hinted at this in 116. hattrem wanted to get in on the action with charcadet and meowscarada, but liko told her to stay put and that it was "too dangerous", even though she happily let charcadet fight. yeah, she did seem happy there, but is she really? i really think hattrem just wants to let loose for once, her last actual battle was against roy in episode 67. almost 50 episodes ago. she's just been used as a healer support, which is FINE because thats what she can do, but still.

I wouldn't hate a disobedience arc, but I do think we are a bit too late for a disobedience arc that isn't short or satisfying to watch.

  3. omg this is not that important but liko in the yellow undershirt instead of the long sleeved black one is really cute. i missed the pop of yellow from her bag being on her front in her original design i think

I'll be so real, Hattrem has always been my least favorite mon that the kids own. Tbh never knew what it was, just not a fan... but we getting Hatterene? HOLD ON NOW, THAT MIGHT JUST CHANGE!

Also more Ann content is more good content! :yay:

If Hatterene can trick explorer member into their own mind of fantasy. It will be the worth to see, like what she did to Ash, Misty and Brock. If the writer decided to go ahead with that.

This is my exact feeling! All we need is that evolution!
 
Hattrem has been kind of a weird character since evolving. It seemed like they were going to have a gag of it being really strong when it singlehandedly one-shot three Annihilape at the same time immediately after evolving with the whole beat-first-heal-later strategy it had. But it hasn't really gotten anything since then. Although we've already discussed how poorly the kids' second Pokemon have been treated overall lol.

I've always liked Hatterene a lot though so I hope we get a good amount of screentime and action once it does evolve.

I feel like the problem is that rather than capitalizing on her offensive capabilities that she gained upon evolving to show that she wasn’t the delicate empath that was overwhelmed by strong emotions that she was as a Hatenna, the writers just doubled down on the healing. As a result, she basically ended up getting boxed into the role of just being a healer despite having gained quite a bit of offensive capabilities and a more confident personality that doesn’t shy away from battle.
 
i’m kind of guessing liko is going to realize herself that she hasn’t let tebrim do anything other than be the healer (for the most part anyway) and embrace her strength as a battler too, which may be the push for her evolution. though it’s hard to tell which came first; an intentional character writing choice with liko or the writers dropping the ball with tebrim lol
