Summary courtesy of Dephender from Serebii

Pokémon professor Friede is finally coming back. Liko and the other Rising Volt Tacklers head to the scheduled landing point to meet up with his spaceship as it returns from space. However, the spaceship malfunctions and is going to crash into the ground due to the parachute not opening. The Rising Volt Tacklers begin a desperate rescue operation.

What?? Spaceship?? What is going on!! lol

Friede's back just in time for Christmas! He totally wasn't going to miss the holidays.

But via a spaceship?
A spaceship?

Even though last time we saw him he fell off the Brave Olivine? Did he bump his head or something and decide to spend his time in SPAAACCCEEEE instead? Such a strange choice, I bet it'll get explained somehow.

Was Friede in space?

Maybe it is not actual Friede, but an evil robot version of him, with an evil robot spaceship.
Or alternate universe Friede. Jumped over from Ultra space. And the summary forgot to add the "ultra"
Or we are getting an unexpected Star trek crossover.
Or, we are all being trolled

been trying to think of something to say about this episode summary for a while now and all i got is "what" and "huh"
i... i guess we'll see...? if they can sell me on the execution then sure i guess...
couldn't have said it better myself lol. I'm not opposed to the idea on principle but I am thoroughly baffled and confused. Like, space...? Out of nowhere? With (likely) little to no buildup? Alright, then...

making another post because my first one didn't really communicate that much lol

actually i did think of something to say

i really want to be excited about friede coming back, but i'm honestly finding it hard because of how much the RVT adults have been deprioritized since mega voltage in particular. i would love to be proven wrong but i feel like he's going to come back and then be mostly irrelevant again once the dust settles. i understand the kids are much stronger and more capable now and can handle a lot without the adults mentoring them or following them around constantly, but the complete and total lack of them despite them still being in the opening themes and such has been really off-putting to me. i am probably just being pessimistic because i am stressed/in a bad mood lately and it may be coloring my perception but man like. i miss mollie and orio and murdock and landau. friede is lowkey the least of my worries, at least he has had a reason to be gone...

there's also been so little focus on finding friede ever since he left his voice message that this feels very sudden and undeserved... like, even without the insane premise of him being in space. suppose it was something else, this would still feel kind of out of left field. like really, no build up? not even one episode of them receiving some sort of communication friede and preparing to go find him? we're going from not talking about him at all straight into having him back? i don't know, the whole friede disappearance/"death" arc has just overall been handled so poorly in my opinion, which really sucks because it was one of the things i was most excited about when mega voltage first started airing. and yeah, the insane premise is not helping me be excited

i really hope they sell us on this one cause as it stands i feel like this is going to be an unjustly wack way to end a poorly handled arc pretty much out of nowhere (i will eat my words just a little bit if this week's episode somehow leads into the next i guess)

I mean, it would be highly appropriate if they found info about Friede's last known location in the exceed data center. So it does not seem that surprising to me that the next episode would be about finding Friede.
But yeah, other than that Friede was mostly treated as "out of sight out of mind"

Random thought that is definitely false:
It would be fun if it turned out Chalce and Friede were collaborating in secret somehow
I feel like Chalce wouldn't go to Friede even to save the world... which upon saying that I realize is what they'd actually be doing lol
Honesty I'd take any form of Chalce relevance though.
