Preview HZ122: Wings of Blazing Heat! Roy VS Friede

I know that I am yelling at clouds, but do we really need another Roy vs. someone else battle after his last battle a few episodes ago when nobody else has seemed to get much else? My complaining aside, I do look forward to see what if anything has changed for Friede, and the wings of blazing heat most likely refer to both Charizard's actual wings and Skeledirge's bird friend's wings. Maybe, Sekledirge learns how to use Torch Song in this episode.

Honestly at this point wake me up when someone else is allowed to get a battle. And I’m not talking that “this battle is a learning experience” thing they kept doing to Liko last arc. I want to see the other main characters actually being allowed to have a real trainer battle.

55 episodes since Fuecoco evolved into Crocalor and now it's been 4 episodes so far with skeledirge, wonder if Quaxwell will evolve again?

Soon Pokemon Horizons will end at the end of April in 2026, So Pokémon miniseries will have a second season in reality and a tenth generation as well when they announce the first video game.

Is horizons ending in april 2026 confirmed in any way?
I mean, yeah with Friede essentially meteoriting back into the plot they do seem to be rushing the series with a velocity value equal to that of a rocket trying to escape earth's orbit, but still, we don't know for sure, right?

This isn't confirmed. I suspect some people are simply insisting on April because they don't like HZ, and that's it.

Yeah...

anyway, I just think that we should not treat speculations as facts. Anything is possible tbh. Until we get a hint or credible leak or announcement we just don't know.

For all we know, We could very well get a whole 50 episode arc about Friede collecting rocks in space and fighting new space alien Pokémon species.

I jest, but I would not complain if that was the case...

It is hard to predict when Horizons would end since we're kind of in uncharted territory for the anime. The gap between Journeys and Horizons itself was fairly unprecedented for the time in-between airing in conjunction with the release of Gen 9 (Nov. 2022, with Horizons releasing in Apr. 2023). Gen 10 would come out in Fall 2026 at earliest, but considering they were fine having a multiple month gap between Journeys and Horizons, they could have Horizons end a few months before Gen 10 is released in order to air the new anime at the same time, or have Horizons end around the release of Gen 10 and have the new anime release a few months after.

Or they could just have Horizons end and the new anime start right after with little to no break, although since I suspect the next anime will likely be a similar clean break from the previous, like Horizons was for the Ash-era, a few month wait in-between makes sense to give them time to put Horizons to rest and then kick start the new era.

I do think we aren't that much farther from the end. We basically have the end goal in sight unless Friede drops something crazy on us. We know we need the 18 Tera-Types to purify the Raquium, and we only have a few more evolutions of the main Pokemon left to check off the list.

Crazy to be discussing the end of Horizons already. It feels like it just started. I know it is just because I'm getting older, since Journeys felt like it was so long. With Gen 10 being the big anniversary, I do wonder what they might do for the next saga.

There was a two-week break between both sets. I don't know where you got those months from.

I can't imagine such a short series. Until now, each one has been spread out over several years, not months.

I'm getting the impression that you all hate HZ. With previous series, no one speculated about a possible ending date.

I'm kinda hoping for a return to focusing on the new gen only. It'd be great to get to see the region as fully as possible again so they can explore a lot of the nooks and crannys and not having to share space with the other regions for a third time.

They didn't announce the tenth generation of Pokemon in anime before the video game came out first.

I enjoy Horizons. I don't see anything unnatural speculating about the ending date when we're already 120+ episodes in and the average Pokemon series has had roughly 140-ish episodes ever since Black & White.
