Review HZ123: Tremble with Fear! Kibi-Kibi Panic on the Ship

What a funny episode and how Diana owned that Legendary Pecharunt in flashback. Where they being addressed as Grandma and Grandpa roles with her and Hamber. Before she come and stop the chicken dance after eating Mochi.

On top of that, Diana given the Auspicious Armour in order to aid for the assault on one of Spinel hideout. Which foreshadowing it evolution. Can't wait.

Overall rating: C+

Kinda ticked off Diana was the one to provide Liko with the Auspicious Armour, I'd have much rather Liko earned it herself rather than just being randomly gifted it.

Also, I so wish Mighty G had been put under the Mochi Dance spell too. Now that would have been a sight.

Dance, Dance like you have never danced before

Liko got Possessed offscreen during the ad breaks

and ludlow missed the mochi dance like that baby chick from that one episode of spongebob that also appeared on a YTV promo

Diana x Hamber ship is top tier, best ship in this show lol

This was a fun episode, nice play on classic horror tropes, Liko being the "last girl" is very fitting for her as well. Dot being heroic and sacrificing herself for the others... how cool!
The dancing duck dancing without being posessed...
But there was no climax to the "horror" part, it would be interesting to see liko actually slip away from the control and try to save the others somehow...

The fairytale part was quite nice. Liked the style change.

Kibikibi. Kibikibi.
Now i want an episode where Pecharunt does the same thing to the Explorers headquarters. And Sango as last girl.

So overall an enjoyable watch but...

I really wanted Liko to go on a quest herself to get that armor, as i mentioned in a different thread. So much potential here! Diana could have just given her a location of a moody castle on a hill in Galar and dungeons beneath it, and Liko would have to get it herself. Or something like it.

And tbh, them all suddenly assaulting the Explorers HQ feels a little, idk, out of nowhere after this episode? I will never complain about getting Explorer screentime but this feels a little abrupt.
This really feels rushed.

Why is Quagsire concerned? (both right answers and wrong answers only)

So, Diana stopped Pecharunt, but she didn't really "save the day", right? If Pecharunt wasn't loyal to her, nobody could stop it. The RVTs could send Pecharunt at the Explorers' HQ and completely ruin them. Looks like we're not doing that, though (probably because it would go against the lesson Diana is trying to teach Pecharunt).
Good news: we now have the Poison Tera Type we were missing to power up Terapagos.

Now... Why are we lauching another attack on the Explorers that soon, while only at the halfway point of the arc? Our heroes got demolished against the Six Heroes only 10 episodes ago. I guess 5 episodes of Blueberry Academy and new 3 evolutions (with a fourth one incoming) are what we've got. Amethio will join the party again. If we want to be serious, Friede and Diana should also be fighting alongside the RVTs to free the Six Heroes. Do you think they'll be here too?

And that one of the worse case scenario and I'm all for it.

To be fair, the kids wandered into a trap the first time around with naught of a plan. (Grant it the trap was kind of obvious.) With pokemon that aren't even fully evolved beyond three in particular and Dot was on the other side of the map.

But Why did ludlow appear in the end just like that Alien Bazar Episode where Gumpers is tasked to not eat the gingerbread people (which are possibly made with real humans) and Dinko appears in the end

Welp. There goes Spinel's last shot at gaining himself an actual Legendary/Mythical ally. Seriously, the reckoning he's going to get once he no longer has the Six Heroes under his grasp is going to be catastrophic, which maybe I'd find satisfying if Spinel had made a stronger impression on me as a villain, but oh well. I'm sure that people who do love to hate him will have fun and I'm happy for them.

That ribbing aside, this episode was actually pretty funny. Cap being chosen as the stand-in/replacement for Munkidori got a chuckle out of me. I'm sure that the only reason this happened was because Cap is smart, but it also kinda looks like they're implying Pikachu is part monkey and that's hilarious.

I'm happy we got a funny episode purely bc we're approaching finale territory and seeing a goofy character episode is nice :yay:

Also I don't mind the armour not being a big mission or sm because charcadet isn't evolved in the preview implying it'll probably need to earn its evo anyway (something something heroically defending someone and it evolves)

I still think spinel is gonna get a legendary or mythical its not like we don't have a billion others he could have (or they give him some machine or something, idk)

Now to wait two weeks for amethio screentime :stunfisk:

Half an episode of the Rising Volt Tacklers getting controlled by Pecharunt (all of the adults at once, then Dot, Roy, and Liko, in additon Pikachu, Lucario, and Kilowattrel are controlled in the roles of the Loyal Three,), followed by Liko's Grandmother showing up and putting a stop to it since it is her Pecharunt she caught a while back (it's just a little disobedient but well-intentioned). She also provides Liko with an Auspicious Armor, which will presumably be put to use at some point (why Liko didn't use it immediately is unclear).

A dog playing the role of the dog is perfect, a petrel playing the role of the phesant is reasonable, a mouse playing the role of the monkey is just silly. Also, our rather eccentric Momotaro adaptation is missing its oni.
