I can't believe I haven't caught that Pokemon!

Ok so pretty much, have you been playing a Pokemon game, encounter a wild Pokemon that's common/weak and decide to catch it, thinking you already caught one, catch it, and it turns out you haven't caught it?

Well I just beat the Elite 4 for like the third time in Crystal and I then realized I haven't even caught a Magikarp yet. :|

I often don't bother catching Pokémon, so I don't get that problem. However, sometimes when I do decide to fill my Dex I become surprised that I haven't caught really early Pokémon, like Zigzagoon on Emerald.

Yeah i knew that, but I just didn't make it a habit to look at the top left

i didn't catch a magikarp until recently in pearl (i'm well past beating the elite 4). hahaha D:

i didn't get that problem much before, though; i think this is the first playthrough of any game that i'm actually trying to complete the pokedex.

I don't start my capture run until after the Elite 4 are beaten.

Eh, I don't let it worry me. I usually plan my team out ahead of time and worry about catching the rest later.

I beat the Elite Four in Diamond once and never got around to catching a Starly.

That icon isn't there in Generation I, it led to the opposite to me, I would occasionally have more than one of the same Pokèmon because I forgot I already had it :dumb:

I'm an obsessive collector so I just lob a Pokèball at everything that doesn't have the symbol on it in recent games :lol: Except well..when I don't. Like in my current run of Ruby. I play it just to transfer Pokèmon to Platinum, so I passed by a few common ones (I know for a fact I don't have a Tentacool on that game). I only catch those I didn't already have on Platinum or just random filler Pokèmon to send to Pal Park.

When I was playing Sapphire, I caught a Poochyena, only after I had beaten the Elite 4.

never happens to me. I always try to catch every pokémon without a pokéball icon that isn't evolved (not counting gen 2-3 prevo's)

If I've played a game through once already, when I restart I usually only catch Pokemon I want for my team. I only realized I hadn't caught a Bidoof when I'd beaten the Elite Four and I needed something to trade with a friend.
