Should I let my Vigoroth evolve into Slaking? On the one hand, I love Vigoroth's Vital Spirit ability that keeps it from falling asleep, as opposed to Slaking's Traunt(I think that's spelled right) ability that only lets it attack every other turn. On the other hand, Slaking seems to have much better stats from what I've heard. I just can't make up my mind and I'm running out of time-Vigoroth is at level 99 and holding an Everstone. I need to make a decision soon. So please tell me-Should I let it evolve or not?

Only attacking every other turn is not acceptable to me. I would only evolve it for the sake of completion, but if you're using it in battles, I recommend not evolving it. Keep in mind I am only taking its ability in mind, as I don't know anything about its stats.

Now I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the later you evolved your pokemon, the less of it's evolutions stats it would have. So I'd think that evolving it now would be rather pointless.

I wouldn't do it anyway, since I hate that truant thing personally.

When you choose to evolve your Pokémon has no influence over its evolution's final stats. (Lv10 or Lv99, regardless of the level you evolve a Pokémon at, the evolution stat boost remains the same.)

As for weather you should evolve it or not, that is really all up to personal preference. Though, I myself find truant to be a nuisance, but fitting on Slacking (Keeping its godly attack stat in check). And Vigoroth is plenty powerful as it is, and more strategically sound in my opinion.

Slaking is as powerful as Groudon or Kyogre, but with the Hyper Beam effect every turn. I would keep it as a Vigoroth, but it's your choice...

Unless you stick Hyper Beam on it so it can rest when it slacks off, don't do it. Using Slakoth and Slaking in battle is too damn frustrating for any benefit they give.

I was considering that. Why did they have to give that creature such a crummy ability? Just what purpose is it supposed to serve? (Aside from making gamers throw their Game Boys across the room) If I do evolve it(still can't decide, so I'm sticking to Battle Frontier where it can't level up) I'll give it Hyper Beam.

It keeps Slaking, a non-Legendary Pokemon, from being able to wipe the floor with every other monster in the game with ease.

There stil lis a way to get rid of it, but only if a)your in a double battle or b)your opponent is an idiot.

Keeping that in mind, I prefer Slaking actually. He's got great attack, so giving him Earthquake, Return, Shadow Ball, and Focus Punch would all be great. Plus, as most trainers don't use Hyper Beam because of the drawback, Slaking is the obvious exception.

However, if you have that Vigoroth at 99, something tells me that you'd prefer him anyways. If you think you'd regret evolving(or not evolving, for that matter), by all means, don't do it.

Haiper Bheem Slacking has no weak.

I mean, seriously, in-game, you'll just totally wipe out whatever the hell comes in to oppose you. Toss on a choice band for good measure.

I agree, Slaking is a good approach for a sweeper. Also if it has a high SP.ATK
teach it a moves like Flamethrower or Ice Beam for good measure.
