Gawd this is old.... ~_~; Maybe posting it will give me further incentive to writing the conclusion chapter.... *kicks the stupid three-part novella that only has two right now* Oh, and by the way, yes, I did get the idea for this fic from Ghost in the Shell. ^^;;

And I'll post part two once I get "idonea" results. ;)

Twlilight hung over the horizon, just barely hinting to the skyline of verdent greenery that it desired to drape itself about its every crevice. The wind picked up slightly, rolling the grass that grew upon the small mountain, one of the many peaks of the range of crags. Mount Silver stood the proudest, its icy crest like a haughty nose in the air, its head above the clouds.

I sat there in quiet solace atop the small mountain I mentioned before, admiring how the sunset painted the clouds and the sky with wondrous shades of rich aureate hues, lovely pink, magnificent orange, of regal purple. I smiled.

The wind ruffled my elegant cinnamon fur and I shivered. Then I heard a rustle in the brush behind me and fell into a defencive stance.

There stood before me a rodentlike creature, covered in large, sharp spines. Its fur was sandy brown, and its spines were dark tan. The dull shade these spearlike hairs proved that this beast was the eldest of its clan. It lived nearby, for I could smell its scent for at least fifty yards.

"Sandslash," the offender greeted, annerved. 'Your presence is not welcome here.'

'Well I never,' I uttered, the Sand-attack I let loose causing a flurry of dust to surround my assailant.

'You cannot avoid me. I will destroy you, and your corpse shall be burnt to ashes and scattered in the Silver Ravine.'

'Don't I just adore small talk,' I muttered sarcastically, harnessing my strength. I stood completely still, poised on the tips of my paws, eyes shut in concentration.

A primal fire burned within me, bright green energy whirled in a mad dervish around me. I dug my claws into the grass and growled at the Sandslash. My low growl quickly became a screech and the Pidgey roosting in the trees scattered. Then the dust settled.

My chocolate mane and tail now shone a metallic green, my eyes lit with the all-too-familiar scarlet flame. I reared my head back and inhaled the last rays of sunlight, and struck the Sandslash with a Solarbeam. He lay there unconscious, many bones broken and covered in blood.

'Grass types always have an advantage over ground types,' I smirked to myself, shedding the elemental shift.

=-=-=-=

One may call me a mutant, others an enlightened individual, yet others still a mere idiot. But me, I'm an Eevee that has an ability that no other Pokémon possesses. At least none that I know.

You see, it's like a Conversion attack that Venomoth possess, yet it's... limited. I have to have the element to which I shift at least in the area directly around me. When I shift like this, my mane and tail change slightly to reflect the element. In that battle with the Sandslash, I had shifted to a grass-type because I was in a grassy knoll. It had proved to my advantage to be able to use grass-type moves.

=-=-=-=

I strolled onwards, to the foot of the hill. A small stream flowed to my left, and I lowered my mouth to the water's edge to wet my tongue. I yelped, taking a step back when I saw a face not mine in the reflection.

This face... its skin was a rough and scaly blue, its long ears ribbed and finlike. It wore a dorsal fin upon its back, and from what I could tell, it started as crestlike cartilege upon its head.

Then it poked its head up from the water, and our noses touched. I tumbled backwards, and the Vaporeon jumped from the water, landing gracefully before me.

"Porrr," it hissed, seeming both intrigued and annerved with me. After a moment, it let loose an Ice Beam at me, and I just barely dodged it, the end of my tail now frozen. I took this as another advantage.

I shifted into the ice element, my tail continuing to become frozen, my mane as well. When the transformation was complete, I, too, let an Ice Beam fly, and mine hit the water-type dead on. The mermaidlike fox was now incased in ice.

I shook the elemental shift again, and continued on, only to be caught up in vines. I squealed in terror, only to be silenced by one of the vines put to my mouth.

'I won't hurt you,' I heard the Pokémon behind the vines state soothingly. 'I only wish to speak.'

I slowly turned to look at the creature, only to find a grass-elemental—a Foleon—sitting in a pile of shattered ice.

What had I attacked?

=-=-=-=

'My dear Rudis,' it whispered, bringing me down to sit before it. Its voice was deep and rich like the thrum of a flight of Scyther.

'Wh—what do you want from me...?' I half demanded, stammering.

'I have heard of you from so many,' the creature uttered, seemingly ignoring my inquiry. It shed its form to become the amoebic mass it truly was. Then it continued.

'I am a Ditto, Rudis,' it explained. 'I have an ability, a single ability. And that is to be something that I am not. This is an advantage much of the time, but there are drawbacks. I am only able to become my foe.'

'But you... you were a Vaporeon.... And a Foleon! How is that possible? And how do you know my name?'

'You should know the answer to that.' After a moment of my bewildered stare it told me, 'I know your name by word of tongue.

'I am able to do so because you are a Foleon, a Vaporeon, a Noveon. All seventeen elements, all seventeen forms.'

'B—but I'm just an Eevee particularly in tune with my surroundings!' I choked out. I could have run, but didn't. I had to know.

'You're in denial of your own superiourity,' it chided. 'Though your name is Rudis, I can make you something more than such.'

'Rudis...? What does my name have to do with anything?'

'Your clan named you Rudis, which means "raw," or "unfinished." Though this is true, because you are unable to utilise properly your strength because of its needs to work. I can make that restriction vanish.'

'How...?' I trailed, lost.

'In order for Ditto to reproduce with another species they must give off some of its form, and with it, some of its ability to Transform.

'I cannot reproduce in the same manner as other Ditto. I have thus retained all of my strength.'

'But what does it have to do with me?'

'You share my passion for using surroundings. You thus must be my mate.'

'But you said that you can't reproduce,' I uttered.

'I don't intend to reproduce. We both are far beyond needing to further populate our gene pools.'

'Then what?'

'I wish for us to become one. One mind, one body, one soul.'

'Thh—' I could say nothing, stricken completely dumb.

'If we are to be one in the same, we shall be able to use each other's abilities to our advantage. Neither of us can die because, being a mere pool of genetic information, my DNA cannot age. I, in fact, have no DNA. Only that which creates it.'

'Then you want us to be one,' I stated, in a daze.

The Ditto at once took this moment to swirl up into a thin stream of mass, then surrounded me in itself.

Then it dove into my mouth and flowed throughout me.

I felt my entire form strengthen and elongate, my legs thinner and far more agile. My teeth sharpened, as did my claws. My fur thinned slightly, my tail not so bushy as before.

The meld ceased.

"Idonea," we uttered to ourselves, both our voices echoing within the other's.

Big Ditto scary ;-;

I didn't really like this fic when I read it the first time, re-reading it, I like it quitea bit now... I've changed in between readings it seems, which interests me know, just as much as the story. I await the next chapter, I don't know if I remeber it very well.

Cool... But I thought the Ditto was gonna get wild. ;-; And he didn't. Very interesting. WRITE MORE, CURSE YOU! >_^
