Hello, I'm Colin, but I guess this is a large community, so you can just call me by my username. I've seen these forums here and there, and decided that with HG/SS I would join. I can't say I'll be here too often, but I figured when I have input to give, I will give it.
I have been an avid Pokemon gamer since Red and Blue came out. Yup, I'm 18, and grew up on these things. In fact, the only (main series) games I haven't had at some point were Emerald and Diamond. I actually preordered HeartGold a few weeks ago (it shipped today, yessss) and I guess I can contribute to the Wiki when I can. This is the first Japanese game I've ordered, but by gum, I want this one badly. I decided I'm going to get SoulSilver when it comes out here.
Pokemon trainer-wise, I love the Ice type, but my favorite is Exeggutor. I just love to Sleep Seed and Dream Eater. I'm not much of a competitive battler, but I have given it a go a few times successfully. I'm not obsessed with Pokemon (I'm not!) but I do love the games for their intricate formulas, semi-genetics, and overall challenge and artwork. It doesn't get the credit it deserves; these games are good.
