i have a question about formatting my 3ds with my Pokemon Y

if you format your 3ds system would it erase my Pokemon Y saved data or would it not? i did not buy the digital Copy of the game i bought the Physical copy of the game, i dont have another 3ds i got 2 much junk on here i wanted to know if i format it would i lose any of my data i understand eshop games an such will be gone im just asking will my Pokemon Y be erased aswell or would it not be? :dizzy:
