This is a logic puzzle where the goal is to determine the category that I'm sorting things into.

An example puzzle is:

I like lenses but not mirrors.
I like hexagons but not nonagons.
I like tomboys but not sissies.

Do I like pizzas?

The answer is yes, because I like anything that doesn't have three of the same letter in its name.

Every day, I'll post a different puzzle, and there will be a "level of difficulty scale", from 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest.

Without further ado, here is the first puzzle:

Puzzle #1 - LOD: 2/10 (Easy)

I like purses but not wallets.
I like scuba diving but not skinny dipping.
I like relationships but not affairs.
I like Pokéblocks but not Poffins.

Do I like puddles, or raindrops?

Raindrops, you don't like words with double letters that are right beside each other!

Raindrops, you don't like words with double letters that are right beside each other!

Good job, you got it! But the next puzzle comes out tomorrow...

Actually, if you want, you can post another puzzle, but the ones I post are the "official" ones.

I like bananas but not celery.
I like soda but not carrots.
I like treasure but not veggies.

Do I like tomatoes or bread?

I'm guessing you were trying to go with bread, but if you know that tomatoes are actually fruit, then I don't know.

Your forgetting something Yusei

I like Axes, but not Apples
I like Guns, but not Lillies
I like Dogs, but not Nannies

Do I like Games or Berries?

I'm guessing you were trying to go with bread, but if you know that tomatoes are actually fruit, then I don't know.

I know it's a fruit, it's that in my world it's a vegetable.

Zwampert, I believe you like games.

I like produce but not pears.
I like wind but not air.
I like lead but not sails.

Do I like bays or riches?

I beleive you like Riches

I like Keys not Steel
I like Meals not Reels
I like Rats not Energy

Do I like Music or Electricity?

I beleive you like Riches

I like Keys not Steel
I like Meals not Reels
I like Rats not Energy

Do I like Music or Electricity?

Music.

If you are answering an unofficial "I like", or even an official one, explain your line of reasoning.

For example, for mine, it's that you don't like things with 2 e's in them.

That being said, here's puzzle 2:

Puzzle #2 - LOD: 4/10 (Moderate)

I like 113 but not 242.
I like 25 but not 26.
I like 357 but not 467.
I like 285 but not 470.
I have no preference for any numbers above 493, at least not until September 18, 2010. (If I had left this clue out, the puzzle would have been 8/10.)

I only like one out of the following. Which one is it?
A) 18
B) 141
C) 248
D) 384
E) 475

384 - you only like basic pokemon numbers.
Chansey is considered basic, happiny is a baby pokemon.

The thing you liked could have been something else, if you did not say only like one of the numbers.

You were close. The answer is right, but the category is off - I like any Pokemon that's either not its final evolved form, or only has one link in the chain.

#384 Rayquaza is the only one out of the 5 that does that.

If your category was right, Pikachu wouldn't be right either - Pichu is a pre-evolution.

The thing you liked could have been something else, if you did not say only like one of the numbers.

That's why I did say that! :D

Okay, I'll give you a bonus one.

Puzzle #3 - LOD: 2/10 (Easy)

I like Fushigidane but not Zenigame.
I like Rarecoil but not Buoysel.
I like Nendoll but not Tamanta.

Do I like Rotom?

Yes you like him, you do not like water pokemon, I am guessing, but I don't think that is right, because that doesn't prove that you do like rotom too.

And I said you like basic pokemon, pikachu is a basic pokemon bacause pichu is a baby pokemon.

Yes you like him, you do not like water pokemon, I am guessing, but I don't think that is right, because that doesn't prove that you do like rotom too.

Ah. No, that's not correct. I actually don't like him, but you'll have to give the reason. Here's another clue to help:

I like Kusaihana but not Lizardo.

And I said you like basic pokemon, pikachu is a basic pokemon bacause pichu is a baby pokemon.

So is Happiny... >_>

Haha, I feel like an idiot, I still don't get it

And I was just saying that my answer could be right, they were all basic pokemon, I was just saying it was a possible answer. :spin:

Guess so.

The answer is that I like any Pokemon that has 5 kana in its Japanese name, counting sokuons, small letters, and extensions. Rotom only has 3, so bye-bye it goes.

There's a reason why I used the Japanese names :-D

Okay, the next one!

Puzzle #4 - LOD: 7/10 (Tough)

I like cheese more than I like ketchup, but less than I like onigiri.
I like ice cream exactly as much as I like potatoes, but both of these more than I like mashed potatoes.
I like falafel more than I like pizza, but neither one do I like better than souvlaki.
I prefer chicken to ham, and Burger King to McDonald's.

Which one do I like more, sandwiches or tuna fish?

(Hint, it's a word puzzle.)

For future reference, here are the difficulty ratings:

0/10 - Trivial
1/10 - Simple
2/10 - Easy
3/10 - Modest
4/10 - Moderate
5/10 - Tricky
6/10 - Hard
7/10 - Tough
8/10 - Fiendish
9/10 - Diabolical
10/10 - Almost Impossible

Sandwiches, you like things that takes little time to prepare/get.

And sorry about the first riddle thing, I think I was wrong. I had my mind set on pokemon cards, in them I think that is the case. :spin:

Nope, try again :spin:

Notice the words "more than" and "less than". It means that there's a certain scale on which I like things.

Ohhh.... -slaps head-
You like them both the same, the more vowels something has, the more you like it. Sandwiches and Tuna Fish have the same number of vowels.

Inless you meant the singular of Sandwiches, in that case it would be Tuna Fish.

Close, but still wrong. It does have to do with vowels, though.

Here's another one: I like cake more than broth.

*bump* New puzzle!

Puzzle #5 - LOD: 1/10 (Simple)

I like 357, but not 139.
I like 12, but not 34.
I like 48, but not 28.

Do I like 4000?

@Ken: It was the vowel-to-letter ratio that mattered.

I have a pretty far-fetched answer, I know it probably isnt right, though.

Keep adding the numbers together until you get a number. If that number isn't single digit, keep adding the numbers you get until it is.
So yes you do, you like only ones that add to even number by using my thing.
