Ok, I have been having problems with my USB WIFI connector, I have tried the Nintendo web site but couldn't really find anything.

Ok, sometimes for no apparent reason I will loose connection, I find it hard to get a connection in the first place, sometimes even though I am doing everything Nintendo says to do my DS just refuses to pick up a signal. Also when I install the software from the disk I cant find where it has installed it. Sometimes I have to install the soft ware again and again to get it to work.

It often freezes when it is trying to install the disk. (Its at the point where it is trying to do something with sharing internet conection) does anyone else have this problem?

Also I get a notice saying internet conection error 6 or something similar.

(I could have posted it in the simple question thread but it seems slightly more than a simple question)

Same thing happens to me, except it's generally any type of wifi. I do notice my USB connector (the nintendo one) randomly shutting off as well.

I tried that but then it didnt work at all so I went home. Just as long as its not me thats ok then. I have it working curently.

And unfortunately, the moral of the story is: don't get a Nintendo WiFi USB Connector. They're terrible. My friend can't get his to work for anything, and a lot of people complain of them having intermittent errors/overheating.

You can get really good wireless routers for the same price if you shop around, and they depreciate a lot more slowly, too. And they work with everything. :)

Is it too late to take your connectors back?

Is it really worth taking it back? I dont know anywhere that sells wireless routers.

I got a USB Connector, and it works fine for me. Mind you, I generally have to move the Connector closer to the DS and my wireless mouse reciever further away, but it does work. Make sure there's nothing interfering with the signal, like wireless mouses.

I cant get it to work if my mums useing the microwave or something. My computer is next to the wireless thing that controlsl the centeral heating, could that be it?

Quite possibly. Move the Wi-Fi connector quite close to the DS, and see if that helps. I find sometimes I have to put it on my knee right next to my DS in order to get a good signal.

Oh well, I dont mind too much cause it means I dont have to sit in a pub with a ton of drunks at midnight just so I can trade with people in a different timezone im fine with it.

Indeed - for me, it means I don't have to go to McDonalds at two in the morning and sit in the carpark. Or stand at the back of computer game shops while the attendants make snide comments at me. =)

My USB Connector works perfectly for both my DS and my Wii. Never had any problems.

My main issue with the USB Connector is that it can be a little touchy - if I bump it, it can become disconnected. That said, I suspect that's more an issue with the USB hub I've got it plugged into rather than the connector itself. Otherwise it works just fine, if with not the greatest range, which is unsurprising given all the interference in my room/house.

(On a somewhat annoying note, I accidentally bumped it out of the socket when I was using the GTS, just as I was about to make a really good trade. Someone was offering a Miltank holding a rare berry only available in Emerald, and asking for only an Unown in return. When I went back after re-seating the connector, I didn't get the same offer again. Bah humbug.)

I got my wifi from my computers motum (dont know how to spell that)! Yay free WIFI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Modem. And most likely it's a router.

And free? I'm guessing the signal that gets into your modem is not free.

No, it's just a standard feature of wireless routers. I'd be able to connect through my router as well, if it wasn't using a higher level of encryption than the DS can handle.
