Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and i was wondering if I could get some feedback on my team in pokemon Heart gold because I can't seem to beat the elite 4 first time around this is my team :
Entei Lv.42 Hyper Beam, Fire Blast, Stomp, Flamthrower
Gyrados Lv. 37 Whirlpool, Dragon Rage, Surf, Blizzard
Alakazam Lv.38 Psybeam, Psycho Cut, Drain Punch, Shadow Ball
Dragonair(exp.share trianing into dragonite)Extreme Speed, Thunder Wave, Waterfall, Dragonpulse
Meganuim Lv.37 Cut, Solarbeam, Petal Dance, Rock Smash
Ampharos Lv.36 Strenght, Thunder Wave, Discharge, Thunder

Don't be afraid to give negative advice and be mean about telling me because i'm used to it so yeah be as mean as you want I dont mind

But since this thread i lready made, I mind as well rate it.

Entei: WTF?!?! Hyper Beam? Fire Blast is stronger with STAB, and it has no recharge. Even Flamethrower is stronger over the two turns.

Gyardos: A Gyarados with NO phyical moves? Why? Teach it Waterfall over Whirlpool, and see if you can relace Surf with a physical move.

Alakazam: Phycho Cut and Drain Punch need to be replaced. NOW! Alakazam is a horrible physical attacker.

Dragonair/nite: Looks good :)

Meganuim: Teach it a Grass type move with no negative consequence for reliability (Giga drain, Energy Ball, Ect.)

Ampharos: Thunder and T-wave combined are better then Discharge unless your an accuracy nut. Replace Discharge with something to make Ampharos more diverse
 
You aren't taking your pokemon's strengths into account. Gyrados has no physical attacks, Alakazam has two physical attacks, Ampharos has strength... why? Meganium, your starter, is using two HM's, the two weakest ones. And I don't know what you are doing item wise. But from what I can tell, your team has some really bad moves.

But no need to worry. Those guys in Blackthorn can help you out... for a price.

You get it post elite 4. I though you could get it earler, so NVM my advice about it. But still, you should teach Meganium Synthesis. Recovery moves FTW

No, Furret is pretty good. Lickitung, that sort of thing.
 
It depends on what HM that you have in mind. The best one is a Furret which you can do by just leveling up Sentret to level 15. Psyduck is also pretty handy for the water HM moves.
 
Should I teach my ampharos Signal beam when it lears it ???
 
Yes. Yes you should. super effective on dark and psychic types.
 
Change Gyarados for Lapras. I'd keep Discharge instead of Thunder, because the game likes to work in the computer's favor sometimes, and that usually includes decreasing the accuracy of low accuracy moves. Also, if your regular pokemon are going to have HMs, then spread them around more.
 
Where do you get Lapras ???
