the gadfly never introduced himself. I have over 800 registered posts and God knows how many posts as an unregistered guest before that was turned off. I'd guess I've easily made over 1100 posts here.

the gadfly is a vice-president of marketing for a Los Angeles bio-tech firm. I've worked for Hanna-Barbera (Flintstones, Jetsons and other shows).

I do not claim to be an expert on the entertainment industry. I left that field 20 years ago. I do say I know a thing or two about business.

I'd welcome you to the forum, Gadfly, but since you're a fair number of months my senior, I'll only say that I thought about starting a thread like this too when I finished making my "Wild HUBOLOGIST appeared!" battle scene.

...WPM, did you even read what he said, or were you simply trying for a bit of simple postcount+1?

A question gadfly. I've always wondered...why do you decide to post in the third person?
Postcount +2!

I was being sarcastic. Gadly and I have exchanged on this forum many times.

He may not have been, but I was ;-)

Off with his head! Off with his head! the gadfly does not deign to answer!

Actually, I use third person when I think it will carry some weight in whatever I plan to say. After all, the queen of England never uses first person singular. She always says "we". Here in BMGf, it's just whimsy and habit because I have no weight here.

Yes, I actually do use third person in my job occasionally. Nothing gets a person's attention faster than when you begin by saying "the vice-president of marketing..." It reminds them who they are dealing with. I'm not the friendly guy they usually see.

It's pretty much the same thing when a parent addresses a misbehaving child by saying his/her full name.
