I now believe Ash will never win a league

If there was any shot of Ash winning a league, Sinnoh would have been it.

Ash's Sinnoh team was his most evolved team, he was actually using his reserves this time, the hype with Paul could have been in the finals, and they hinted constantly Ash had a chance of challenging the Elite 4.

But all of that is pointless, since it seems Ash is losing again. I think he'll get Top 4 this time, but oh well.

Seriously, if Ash's team wasn't good enough this time, how the hell could his BW team be any better? An extremely powerful and almost fully evolved Sinnoh team couldn't cut it? Nor a mix of his Kanto/Johto/Hoenn Pokemon helping out either? So how the hell will Ash ever be strong enough at this point?

The writers really are just stretching out Ash's story to the point of absurdity now. Ash could have won a league and lost to the Elite 4, thus continuing on to BW anyway. Now it just feels like an anti-climax, and the last 4-years of DP felt build-up for nothing.
 
It's Game Freak's fault for not dispensing with the Gym formula, or rather the fans' fault for liking it so much.
 
The title of the thread screams "blog". This just seems like a rant.
 
Really, what was the point of the last 200 episodes and 4-years?

For another anti-climax? Never has a league had this much hype with this much rushing going on.
 
Its already gone on for 13 years and 650 episodes, right now it just feels like the show is being stretched to the point of absurdity.
 
Of course he will win a League, during his last saga, we just have to patiently wait 8 - 12 more years maybe more, but we will finally see him win, if we survive.

And how many of us will still be around at that point? Seriously?

It really feels like those of us who have already been around for 10+ years never got the type of conclusion we ever expected.

I can safely assume I won't be here. BW will be my last saga I watch, if I don't quit in middle of it.

I feel your pain, but you can't say he will never win a league, sometimes you got to think before you say something.
 
That's pretty much the problem with the show. No matter what changes, it still goes back to the same old repetitive endless loop each saga.

Everything that happened in DP now seems downplayed as its ending with the same tired routine. So much for Ash's Sinnoh team, Paul, the Elite 4, everything.
 
I think maybe they don't want him to win because it kinda pushes the point to people that just because you lose there is no reason to stop trying. So I think he will always lose overall. It is just his character - he has a lot of spirit regardless of his hardships and losses and he keeps trying. Really right now that is a good message for people to hear, imo.
