My first fanfic about Doctor Who, regarding John Hurt. Keep in mind this is my first fanfic and I'm not that good at writing. Here goes!

I SHALL COME BACK

PART I

THE FIGHT BEGINS

Chapter I.
Terror of the Daleks

Once it was such a beautiful planet. Now it was wartorn. The Time Lords were the most advanced species in the universe, but they were losing the Time War. As time goes on, everything becomes worse, planets begin to die, and species once so advanced and so intelligent are outwitted. This is exactly what happened in the Time War, between the Daleks and the Time Lords.

In the Dalek base, Dalek drones worked to create more advanced weaponry than the Time Lords. The Black Dalek, the superior of all the drones, slid in.
“Report.” rang its metallic voice. The Controller Red Dalek glided over to the Black Dalek, giving details of the scouting mission sent earlier.
“The Time Lords are building a neutron bomb and the device is almost complete,” it replied in a monotone voice, “but our drones may be able to build a more powerful device if we transmat more.”
“I command you to send for more Dalek drones.” replied the Black Dalek, and with that, it slid back into the control centre. As the Red Dalek worked the controls of the transmat, A number of grey Dalek drones began to glide into the base.

Little did the Daleks know that there was a Time Lord scout peeping though a window, trying to note down every detail. He was recently recruited, a young lad at the age of 355. He noted down most of the conversation, including the vital part about the neutron bomb counter. He was ready to return to base with the utmost of carefulness, because the Dalek base was past the Gates of Ellysium, where the Nightmare Child dwelled. In the early parts of the Time War, a Dalek ship flew into the jaws of the beast with their creator, Davros, inside. If it was to wake it could have the power to destroy Gallifrey’s citadel, the Time Lord base, when angry. He started to make his way back. But the Black Dalek had seen him from the inside and had to take action.

“Controller,” rang the Black Dalek’s monotone voice, “There is a Time Lord scout outside this base. He is an enemy of the Daleks.” Its eye-stalk swung around to the Dalek drones, who had stopped working to see what their superior had to say. “There is a scout outside that could foil our plans,” it addressed the workers.
“Exterminate him. Exterminate him! EXTERMINATE HIM!” rang out the voices, now filled with hatred. The Time Lord scout never made it back to base.

End Chapter I.
Well, Whaddya think?

Alright, Chapter II is done. Here goes!

Chapter II.
Send in the Doctor

The citadel of Gallifrey was once an architectural masterpiece, with the large city surrounded by a larger glass bubble. Now the bubble was broken at the bottom and smoke was pouring out from the destroyed buildings. The President of the Time Lords, now the resurrected Rassilon, discussed the situation with the Time Lord Council.
“The Daleks are advancing, and there aren’t many soldiers left.” whimpered the Chancellor, panicking slightly.
“We’ve tried to get rid of them by advancing our weaponry and taking theirs, and recently dropping a neutron bomb which they deflected with a shield and irradiated a whole forest. We’ve tried everything. We’ve lost.” cried the Castellan. He laid his head down on the table and wept. The Lord President Rassilon looked down at him and thought for a while, and finally came up with a solution.

“I’ve got it,” he announced, “send the Doctor.”
“But he’ll never hold off that number of Daleks!” The Chancellor cried.
“Are you saying we can’t help him?!” cried the Castellan
“Yes.” replied Rassilon calmly, “But perhaps he can help himself. Get me his time stream. We’ll pick his previous incarnations out of his time stream.”
“That’s breaking the laws of time!” The Castellan protested.
“But we have no choice! Gallifrey has to be protected!” snapped Rassilon. He stared at the Castellan with eyes like daggers.
“Fine. So be it.” whispered the Castellan reluctantly, “But on your own head be it.”

The Eighth Doctor was sitting in his TARDIS, reading ‘The Time Machine’, by H.G. Wells, and enjoying it so. The TARDIS time rotor came to a stop. The Doctor went to check where he was, but it said something impossible:
LOCATION: NOWHERE, NO TIME
He found this most peculiar, and decided this was some malfunction that the system would take care of itself. He sat back down in his chair and picked up a jelly baby. The truth was Rassilon and the Council had the Doctor arrive at the Gallifrey Citadel without his realising.

The Doctor went back to reading, when saw a familiar twisted walking cane. Then he saw a recorder lying on the TARDIS console. He thought nothing of it and went back to reading. Soon more items appeared: a velvet smoking jacket on the chair behind him, a scarf, a stick of celery, a cat-shaped pin badge on the table, and a peculiar umbrella. The Doctor picked up the recorder.
“Most peculiar.” he whispered.
“Oh, thank you.” said a most familiar voice, a hand grabbing the recorder. The Eighth Doctor looked up to see his old second incarnation.
“Oh, there’s my jacket!” said his third incarnation, appearing out of thin air. Soon more and more incarnations of him appeared out of thin air, the old man, the jelly baby one, the cricket one, the garish one and finally the odd one. The Eighth Doctor was confused and dazed.
“Why are you all here? This can’t be!” he protested. His third incarnation stepped up to him.
“Well, my dear chap,” he began, “Rassilon sent us to help you.”

NEXT CHAPTER: We Need Another!

Alright, Part I is nearly finished! Okay, this may be a bit crap but still, it's my first!

Chapter III.
We Need Another!

“WHAT?!” The Eighth Doctor shrieked, “YOU CAN’T THINK THE EIGHT OF US CAN HOLD OFF THE DALEK ARMY??”
“You must. All of you are our last hope.” protested Rassilon.
“We can do it.” added the Fifth Doctor, “We've fought them all before and we've won against them. We destroyed the Emperor; we started civil war between them!”
“Oh, did we?” questioned the First Doctor.
“Your future. When you regenerate into that clown.” replied the Seventh Doctor, pointing to the Second.
“Oi! You’re more of a clown than I am! You carry an umbrella everywhere!” he protested, his face turning bright red with rage.
STOP IT!” shrieked Rassilon, making the bickering Doctors jump with fear, “You’ll fight the Daleks and win. For Gallifrey!”
“For Gallifrey!” shouted all of the Doctors in unison. The Doctors then left the room.
“BUT REMEMBER!” Rassilon called after them, “DON’T GO INTO ANY FORESTS! THEY MAY BE IRRADIATED!”

“I wish you told him we needed more troops!” hissed the Sixth Doctor to the Eighth Doctor, “That would guarantee our survival!”
“Our being here guarantees our survival! The fact that you three are here guarantees that we will survive this!” replied the Fourth Doctor, pointing to the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors, his mouth full of jelly babies.
“Although we can’t say about you, old chap.” said the Third Doctor in a sombre tone, “But do not despair! As celery chap just said, we can do it again!”
“I have a name.” the Fifth Doctor protested.
“Oh, do shut up, we need to plan.” hissed the Second Doctor, “Let’s move.”

“Alright, here’s the plan. We go under and infiltrate from below.” commanded the Eighth Doctor.
“Why not use a Dalekenium bomb from below, like with Reginald Styles?” the Third Doctor chipped in.
“Good! Very good idea!” the Seventh Doctor cried as he noted the idea down. This conference call was going well; they had almost put the finishing touches on their plan to finish the Time War.

“Well, it seems we don’t need as many troops for this idea. But we may need one more.” the First Doctor said, as he walked over to the transmat. He didn’t care who he transmatted to Gallifrey, he only wanted a troop to help them.
“What are you doing?” the Eighth Doctor said loudly, striding over to his first self.
“Transmatting another troop. Here goes!” he replied. The transmat lit up, and to the eight Doctors’ surprise, Susan Foreman, their granddaughter, appeared.

NEXT CHAPTER: The Caves of Gallifrey

This is the last chapter of Part I.

Chapter IV.
The Caves of Gallifrey

“GRANDFATHER!” she shrieked.
“I suppose we could use another troop,” said the Eighth Doctor, “We need all the help we can get.”
“Troop? Whatever do you mean?” enquired Susan.
“You’re on Gallifrey during the Time War. We need your help.” said the Sixth Doctor. Susan’s face turned from smiling to horror. She got her own TARDIS after she left the Doctor and went time travelling. She had heard of the Time War and heard of the horrors that happened on Gallifrey. She protested to the idea but she was eventually persuaded by the Doctors together.

Gallifrey has a network of caves underneath the citadel stretching out for miles. They led underneath the Dalek base. And so, the plan got underway. The First, Fifth, Second Doctors and Susan took the west caves while the Seventh, Third, Fourth and Sixth took the north. The Eighth decided to hide in a forest and alert the other Doctors if the Daleks were on patrol.

“I remember when we went on an excursion here. Such fun!” squealed the Second Doctor. The Fifth Doctor and Sixth were sighing wearily. They couldn’t believe that used to be them.
“Why don’t I play something to enlighten the mood here?” the Second Doctor said gleefully.
“Oh, do be quiet, we’re on a mission and we mustn’t get distracted.” snapped the First Doctor, “And the Daleks might hear us if we talk too loud or if you play that stupid recorder!” The caves were not that far underground, a few metres from the surface, maybe. If someone shouted loudly, then those above could hear it.

The Eighth Doctor hid in the forest, and most of the time, his mission was uneventful, when finally he saw a number of grey Daleks on patrol. The Doctor began to feel sick, but because he saw these Daleks, he contacted the Third Doctor.
“Daleks? How many of ‘em?” the Third Doctor questioned. There was a sense of seriousness in his tone of voice.
“Six. But it looks like they’ll be gone in a moment.”
“Where are you, old chap?” the Third Doctor enquired.
“A forest, not too far from the Dalek base. They won’t see me.”
“GOOD GOD!” shrieked the Third Doctor, “GET OUT! THAT FOREST’S IRRADIATED! FIND A TRAPDOOR AND GET OUT!” The Daleks heard this shriek and saw the Eighth Doctor spying on them.
“Intruder! Exterminate him!” their voices rang. The Doctor managed to find a trapdoor down to the caves and dropped down.

Years before, the Time Lords built multiple trapdoors down to the caves, with ladders to easily get down to the caves. When the Doctor got to the ground at the bottom, the First, Second, Fifth and Sixth Doctors waited for him.
“What are you doing here? You’re meant to be scouting!” hissed the Sixth Doctor.
“Daleks… saw me… I’m irradiated. No chance of saving me.
“Listen, my boy, you must hold on!” cried the First Doctor.
“Grandfather, hold on!” squealed Susan.
“I can’t! The radiation from the forest is killing me. Well…this is it.” the Eighth Doctor spluttered, “Here goes nothing!”
And with that, golden energy exploded around him, destroying rocks on the sides as his face changed from a dashing, young man to an old, sombre man. The energy faded, and the Ninth Doctor stood in his place.

INTRODUCING JOHN HURT AS THE DOCTOR
TO BE CONTINUED...

Alright, I'm back with Part II. I'll admit the next chapter is a filler chapter.

PART II.

THE FIRST QUESTION

Chapter V.
The Daleks Break In

Everyone was speechless. The Eighth Doctor regenerated into the Ninth unexpectedly.
“There are Daleks up above trying to break in.” said the Ninth Doctor, “We need to move.”
“Exterminate the intruder!” came the voices from above as the trapdoor was lit up in a brilliant white light as it was shot and Dalek drones began to float down. But by the time they reached the foot of the ladder the Doctors and Susan had gone.
“We will split up to find the Doctor! When he is found, EXTERMINATE HIM!” screeched the Black Dalek, who had come along to destroy the Doctor, “I shall inform the Gold Dalek!” The Gold Dalek was the superior to the Black Dalek and therefore ran the base.

“Doc-tor?” enquired the Gold Dalek in its echoing, grating voice, “The Doc-tor is an enemy of the Daleks. He must be EXTERMINATED!” For the first time, the Black Dalek heard something new in the Gold Dalek’s voice. It was fear. It knew many Daleks were scared of the Doctor but the Gold Dalek was known as the Fearless Slaughterer. It had fought Cybermen. It had fought Mechonoids and it had fought the Doctor on Earth in the twenty-second century.
“I shall go out and destroy the Doc-tor. He killed our Emperor and thwarted our plan to take over Earth. EXTERMINATE HIM!”

The First, Second, Fifth and Ninth Doctors as well as Susan ran through the caves, trying to run away from the Dalek drones pursuing them. Just as they were running, they bumped into the other Doctors.
“Daleks! Pursuing us!” shouted the Fourth Doctor, “Who’s he?” he asked, pointing to the Ninth Doctor.
“Our young friend who scouted in the forest.” replied the First Doctor.

“I told you it was irradiated!” pointed out the Third Doctor.
“Listen, we have hardly any way of getting out since there are Daleks at both sides!” panicked the Seventh Doctor.
“Isn’t there a branch up along this cave? If we’re quick we can lose the Daleks and still make it to their base.” replied the Fifth Doctor. None of them wanted to risk anything so they fled before any Dalek could catch them. But what they didn’t notice was that the Gold Dalek was gliding after them.

NEXT CHAPTER: Infiltration

I'm nearly done.

Chapter VI.
Infiltration

“I believe this is right below the Dalek Base.” announced the Ninth Doctor, reading a map of Gallifrey, “The Castellan told us it was at co-ordinates 7-Delta 16-Z/K. I do believe this is where we are now.” Just beside them was a ladder leading up to a trapdoor. The Third Doctor began to climb up the ladder to see if the coast was clear. Not a Dalek in sight. he gave them the all-clear and the Doctors and Susan began to file up the ladder. When they reached the top they appeared to be in some form of octagonal room with eight doors. Suddenly, the doors opened and Daleks began to file in with the Black Dalek in the centre with the Doctors. Suddenly the trapdoor began to shake and finally burst open in a brilliant white light. The Gold Dalek hovered up into the room.

“All of you are the Doctor!” the Gold Dalek screeched, “YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!!”
“Hold fire!” the Black Dalek shouted.
“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!” the Gold Dalek shrieked.
“They might have information on the Time Lords!” replied the Black Dalek, “They could tell us their plans!”
“Take them to interrogation!” screeched the Gold Dalek.

“What are the plans of the Time Lords? SPEAK! SPEAK!!” the Black Dalek screamed. Susan and the Doctors stayed silent.
“SPEAK OR YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!!”
“We don’t know.” said the Ninth Doctor quietly. The Black Dalek’s eye-stalk swung around to meet his face.
“EXPLAIN!”
“We were only brought here recently and told to destroy the Daleks.” he continued, “We know nothing of these plans. We can’t help you. And we’ll never help you.”
“YOU WILL BE PUT INTO THE CELLS!”
At the Black Dalek’s command, the Doctors and Susan were dragged off to a prison cell deep in the Dalek Base’s recesses.

As the Doctors and Susan sat in the cell in the Dalek Base, the Ninth Doctor was in a state of deep thought.
“Weapons and violence won’t end this war.” He began, “But I think I know what will.”
“What is it, then?” The Second Doctor asked impatiently.
“The First Question.” The Ninth Doctor replied.
“But what is the question?” asked the First Doctor, with a slight sense of fear in his voice. The Ninth Doctor opened his mouth and spoke two words that were all too familiar with every incarnation of the Doctor.
“Doctor Who?”

NEXT CHAPTER: The Final End

It is done. With an epilogue.

Chapter VII.
The Final End

“NO!” screamed the Sixth Doctor, “THEY MUSN'T KNOW MY NAME!”
“We have no choice, we need to get out of this cell.” the Ninth Doctor announced,
“Do you remember on Skaro when we made mud to jam the door? We’ll do that again, but with a peculiar stone I found on the way through the caves.”
“Ah yes, I remember that!” added the Second Doctor, gleefully remembering the event. And so they waited for a Dalek to bring food and when the Dalek wasn’t looking, the Ninth Doctor jammed the door with the stone and dragged the Dalek onto his sprawled coat to kill it.

“How did that kill it?” enquired the Third Doctor.
“Daleks like that working drone can only glide on metal. The patrol ones were upgraded to glide on any terrain, but not that one. Just like old times!” replied the Ninth Doctor.
“Listen. I know this is our last resort, but I won’t let you announce my name!” said the Fifth Doctor.
“I have a plan, this last resort comes at such a great cost. You’ll see soon.” And with that, he ran out with all the Doctors following him.
“He’s going to reveal my name. But I understand why he will.” said the Second Doctor to the Third, “He’s desperate to see no more bloodshed.”

“DALEKS!” he screamed, “LISTEN TO ME! I CAN END THIS WAR… at such a great cost.” The Daleks swung their eye-stalks around to the Ninth Doctor.
“I SHALL TELL YOU MY SECRET!” He bellowed out his name to every Dalek. There was a myth that the Silence would try to stop the First Question being answered. The Silence sensed this major disturbance and transmatted to Gallifrey, destroying every Dalek on Gallifrey to stop the spread of the First Question’s answer.
“You threaten to destroy our order.” hissed out one Silent.

“I had no choice. I knew you would come and destroy every Dalek. I answered the First Question in the name of peace and sanity.”
“The First Question must never ever be answered. You answered it. We need to eradicate you. We will force you to regenerate and afterwards, this incarnation will be manifested by your darker side.” hissed a Silent.
“I said I would end the war at a great cost. You see?” the Ninth Doctor bellowed out to his previous incarnations who were staring at him in horror. The Ninth Doctor was being surrounded by golden energy,
“You blame it on me now, but remember, you will do this! YOU WILL DO THIS!” the Ninth Doctor screamed as he regenerated into his other Ninth incarnation and his true Ninth incarnation was manifested by his darker side.

EPILOGUE
The Fall of the Eleventh
The Ninth Doctor was sent for eternity to Trenzalore. Every incarnation in the Doctor’s time stream remembered the event and wouldn’t interact with him at all. Then suddenly, he heard a new voice.
“You can do it, Clara! You’re my impossible girl!” the Ninth Doctor ignored this. He realised this was a future incarnation and decided to keep in the shadows, but he was noticed anyway.
“Who’s that?”
“He’s me. There’s only me here, that’s the point, now let’s get back. The name I chose was the Doctor, it’s like a promise you make. He’s the one that broke the promise. Clara? Clara! Clara!” the Eleventh Doctor shouted as his companion fainted and he picked her up, “He is my secret.”
“What I did, I did without choice.” The Ninth Doctor said in a quiet, sombre voice.
“I know.” replied the Eleventh Doctor.
“In the name of peace and sanity.” said the Ninth Doctor. This angered the Eleventh Doctor greatly.
“But not in the name of the Doctor.”

THE END

Well, what do you think?
