I totally spaced out on going to Mossdeep in Emerald to catch Deoxys after
100 successful test flights at the space center. I'm at 130 successful test flights now. Please don't tell me I have to restart again, cause the internal game battery on Silver faded out some time ago, and so I'm afraid it'll happend on Emerald too. Ah what can I do?

You're using bogus information. People make hundreds of these fake stories to fool people into doing a lot of work for no reason.

You need an Aurora Ticket (obtained from a Nintendo event) for passage to Birth Island. There's no other legitimate way to get Deoxys.

There was a 100 launches hoax?

Yes, there was a rumor going around for a while that if you went to the Space Centre after 50 weeks or 100 weeks (or both), a space shuttle would take you into space where you could battle and capture Jirachi and/or Deoxys. Of course, it was made-up.

Heh, reminds me of the Mew truck.

The truck did exist in Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, and it still does in FireRed and LeafGreen. It was the part about Mew and Strength that was false.

heh. I remember trying desperately to figure out how to push that truck.

I never noticed the truck "easter egg" o_O, However, I kinda feel bad for people who waste countless hours trying to get these bogus methods to work...

It's too bad that the discovery of a legitimate Mew glitch in Pokemon Yellow came far too late, midway through the 3rd generation of games. :| If only such a glitch could be proven to work in Fire Red or Leaf Green. :|

(What the hell I'm talking about for those who don't know) (I encourage you to Google it and even look into it on GameFAQS or other websites you respect -- this is legitimate and even proven by Ian Garvey, US champion for the Pokemon tournament held in 2000.)

Wasn't Ian Garvey the person who hacked a lot of NetBattle servers? Or am I thinking of someone else?

But anyways, I've done this glitch, a long time ago, in Yellow, and I'm planning to do it in Red and Blue if I ever get up to that. So, yeah, I have a "semi-legitimate" Mew in Yellow.

The truck: You need to have two 1st or 3rd generation games. Get Cut on one of them, then transfer a Pokemon knowing Cut onto your second game. DO NOT go on the S.S. Anne in this game. Come back to Vermillion when you have Surf and the Soul Badge in your second game, and go to the S.S. Anne. Show the guy your ticket, then go up to, but not into, the S.S. Anne. Surf. There's nothing to your left, but if you Surf on the right side, you'll eventually find a small loading dock. There is a truck on it, and, in FR/LG, a Lava Cookie (Use the Itemfinder to find it).

If you only have one Red, Blue or Yellow (This does not work on FireRed or LeafGreen, and as a matter of fact, I do not know whether it even works on Yellow), get Cut as you normally would. When you have Surf and the Soul Badge, go to Vermillion and...um...there's a method for getting past the sailor, but I forgot what it was. Damn. Anyone know this method? I think it involves saving diagonally to him...

I remember what you're talking about (I even did it once).

Ah! (Courtesy of GameFaqs on Pokemon Red):

Re-board the S.S. Anne
To Re-board the S.S. Anne, have a Pokemon that knows Surf with you. Go to the guy who says "the ship set sail". You'll be diagnall from him. now go in front of him and save. Turn your GB off and back on. Use your SURF Pokemon and hold DOWN. You'll be SURFing on the guy. Press DOWN the after SURFing, and you should be in the ship

What actually happens is you'll be on the runway - from there you can reboard the SS Anne if you wish, or surf to the right to find the truck. You'll still need to have the beaten the gym that allows you to use Surf outside of battle though.

Also, wasn't the Lava Cookie placed at the truck in the third generation as a kind of homage to all the rumours about the first generation?

I heard so many different rumours about moving that truck: It had to be done by a level 100 Machamp, Primeape, etc (all knowing Strength) and then you could catch Mew, or even visit an early beta version of Johto!

I don't know. We haven't talked significantly in years, and I only know that he has been accused of hacking several websites and webforums since 2001 but that I have also not seen any real evidence linking him to these crimes (e.g. UPN and SPPf being hacked last autumn) which is not circumstantial. All I remember is that when the Mew trick I explained above was revealed, the Internet was in a roar over it (because, apparently, it really does work; I have not tried it myself because what's the point in playing RBY when RSE isn't compatible?). And Ian contacted me on AIM to show me some pictures of him doing it on his GBA.

If you read the explanation for the trick in the link I provided, it actually makes a lot of sense. Especially if you're a veteran of Pokemon who remembers just how glitchy the original games were. (Hello, "MissingNo".)

Just cause it's fun, the way to get to the truck that I always used was you go and get cut, and then you go and lose a battle on the ship. So then you're sent back to the pokemon center. Then you don't go back to the SS Anne until you have surf and the Soul Badge, and the sailor will let you through because the SS Anne never left. Then you can harass the truck to your hearts content.

i heard that deoxys is on the moon and u need a tiket to get there

You heard wrongly. You do need a special Nintendo Event ticket to reach Deoxys, but he's located on a triangular island called Birth Island in Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen.
