Surely this Pokemon master is the only person suitable of him and the only human who he holds respect for...? It wouldn't be a catch it'd be more a master thing I'd imagine also, a film where Ash has got to have Mewtwo as his Pokemon in his team would be good...

Did you miss the entire point of not only the first movie but also Mewtwo Returns?

"It'd be more a master thing"? That's kinda exactly what Giovanni was to Mewtwo and we all know how that turned out.

I did not the fact is Mewtwo and Ash are on and the same, Ash may be a clone for all we know, think about that eh? I am saying Mewtwo will be Ash's master if anything and agree to be trained by him to a level above 100 if we were talking in terms of the games.

Ash is the most powerful Pokemon trainer in the world and Mewtwo is the most powerful Pokemon in the world, it'd make sense for them to work together, Ash stopped Mewtwo from destroying the world of course as well.

Yeah, but it would be really unfair for Ash to have any lengendary Pokemon on his team, let alone having Mewtwo (who is, like you said, the most powerful Pokemon).

Besides that, in the anime, trainers never succeed in catching legendary Pokemon. Despite Eusine's attempt to catch Suicune, and that one boy's attempt to catch Entei in "Entei At Your Own Risk", both trainers failed in their efforts.

And of course, there's also the second movie's story. Which made it pretty obvious that the 3 legendary birds from Shamouti Island are very important and should never, under any circumstances be captured.

Mewtwo is a clone of a legendary though, him catching Mew would be wrong yes but not Mewtwo.

Pyramid King Brandon begs to differ.

Also Vicious had Celebi and would have gotten away with it if he hadn't gone on a rampage and instead taken it right back to base.

And let's not forget what happened with Rayquaza in movie 9, even though it was never focused on.

The Birds specific to Shamouti Island seem to be the only ones that would cause such a calamity. There was never any talk of a "balance" when others of the same species showed up.

Also Ash isn't the strongest trainer in the world. He may be someday, but now he's not even close.

So who is then? He showed he was the strongest trainer ever by the first episode, Ho-Oh wouldn't have shown itself to him if he was not. Ash's Pikachu is one of the most powerful Pokemon in the world too I'd imagine. He just doesn't fully try as much as he should.

If it's not Ash it's his farther.

What, Ho-Oh can't go flying around? By that logic, May, Brock, Max, and Scott (the last two of whom aren't even trainers!) are *also* the most powerful trainer, since they all saw it too in Battle Frontier.

And "farther"? You mean father? Doubtful, we would have heard about that by now (even if it *is* Silver or Giovanni, neither of them would be the "most powerful in the world". Giovanni may be the most powerful Kanto Gym Leader, but he's not the strongest trainer in the region)

That's true. But I wasn't referring to Brandon when I made my post, because he was an exception.

Going back to what I said though, I was speaking more in a general sense. And in my opinion, what I've observed just appears to be the case with legendary Pokemon in the anime.

And yes, Blackjack, I agree with you about the legendary birds. It was probably just those 3 which were super-special and, if captured, have the potential to cause a terrible disaster such as that one.

Do you guys seriously want Ash to control, and in extension, become, one of the most powerful forces in the Pokémon universe?

Or do you guys want Mewtwo to power down and actually lose under Ash's control?

Seriously, only morons would consider this sort of thing.

I cannot see how Ash catching Mewtwo would make sense or make the animé more entertaining. It's like playing video games with cheats or on godmode its fun for about ten minutes at max. and then it simply becomes boring and the lack of any challenge becomes apparent. The same applies here because why would you want to watch a trainer that has no more challenges and does not have to struggle or fight for anything?

Ash catching mewtwo would be stupid unless he sent it back to Prof. Oak.

He would win all his battles and there would no longer be a point to the show -_-

Mewtwo is not the most powerful. Arceus is and besides, I battled a lv48 gabite with a Mewtwo, and thought i won, it got mewtwo's hp from mid green to low yellow. Plus i think Ash should capture Ho-Oh instead. Ash is like the player character in the games and at the end the player has to capture the legendaries. At least Ho-Oh!

I don't think he will catch any legendaries to be honest, not even Ho-Oh. There is no real reason why he should to be frank with you. Why should he go around catching legendary monsters? It doesn't add anything to any part of the story and it makes any future pokémon fights insanely pointless.

Maybe when he catches it, the person at the gym/tournament says "Have you read the sign "No UBERS!""

Not only do I doubt Ash is the "most powerful Trainer" (considering he lost, what, three major Pokemon Leagues?) but I think if Mewtwo were caught by any Trainer it would be awkward.

The anime seems to write Mewtwo as more of a character than a Pokemon. He talks, schemes, and even trains Pokemon. It'd be a little strange if Ash were to command what is essentially "someone."

Not to say that the individual Pokemon aren't characters as well, but Mewtwo really is a lot more humanoid than any of them.

I totally agree with ya.

it's not like in the games when you could battle someone with a legendary and see them care and then snag someone's pokemon i colloseum or xd with them caring. I'm on a roll!

Not more than Meowth though. And Meowth has talked about having a trainer before (more than likely Giovanni).

And Lucario from movie 8, but it had that whole soldier thing going on anyway.

Lucario is a good example. It thought it belonged to someone, but it's personality really defied that. then it was told it was really a friend who was equal.

Cue the mushy sadness
