...I just made that theory right now...I think they changed some of it[by some I mean the early episode]..But my only evidence is "Training Daze" and a pikachu special[before the movies]...Unless,chronicles were fillers, which I don't think they are...?..Meh,my theory stinks..*sigh*... =3 *dattebayo*

I think you're just rambling here, buku...

Or you hit new topic instead of reply...

*Thanks Jesus for her weird ability to understand this stuff*

Naruchu is refering to Musashi and Kojirou's background. In early Kanto we heard dozens of stories on how they they met and lived (the Poke Tech school, the bike gang, etc), but one of the Hoso episodes gave us a totally different background. What she's asking is...are the writers just rewriting over their previous material, or are these separate stories?

To answer the question though, it's just the writers forgetting their own material. The side stories about Kasumi and Takeshi are totally canon, so the Rocket background is suppose to be taken that way as well. The writers just made a stupid mistake.

The never explicitly said they didn't know one another before Team Rocket in Training Daze. Perhaps they left one another on iffy terms after Pokemon Tech and the bike gang and when re-meeting in Team Rocket, it produced a very cold and distant attitude.

Does it totally fill everything out? No. But it explains it well enough, I think.

EDIT: Oh. Jessie and James.

Les noms d'anglais, s'il vous plaît. :p

Some people will use the Japanese names. Get used to it. If you're confused, there's always Bulbapedia.

That's what I thought. Though I have no doubt the writers mostly forgot and disregarded the old canon and only accidentally managed to not contradict canon all that much.

There's also the Butch and Cassidy meeting James and Meowth thing... but it's not like people in the Pokemon world have a decent memory, unless they're rivals or have a pathetically serious grudge. =P

yeah, the writers seem to retcon shit all the time (especially stuff brought up in the very first saga). It's really nothing new.

Just go with Yamato-san, its just a retcon of Season 1, which has happened a lot in the newer seasons.

Either that or the writer for that Hoso special completely forgot about TR's backstory while doing that episode.

Funny you should say that... Takegami Junki, the writer responsible for this particular Hoso (and, well, all the Hosos involving Jessie, James and Meowth), is one of the most pro-TR writers on the team. Never figured he'd be the one to forget...

Oh, really? Maybe he was drunk while writing the script then. :p

Honestly, both Jessie and James backstories are filled with plotholes, especially since the writers keep introducing new stuff about them that conflicts with the old stories about their childhoods.

I think Meowth is the only one whose backstory wasn't changed or altered over the course of the anime.

At least Jessie and James have backstories :D That's a lot better than most of the characters.

I still think you can get by without Training Daze ruining cannon from Kanto. It's probably sheer coincidence, though ;D

What about the stories in which:

a) He has been with Giovanni for some time and got replaced by that Persian.
b) Was never involved as Giovanni's pet
c) Been with the TR Trio since beginning
d) Came to TR Trio only at some point

Well, it's not like they're The Bros. Chaps or something and have the time to run over and check a wiki every time they're writing an episode.
