ID number for nicknaming.

Hey guys, I was wondering if we could have an ID number thread, so like if there is a small chance of somebody having the same ID number as a traded Pokemon, we could get it nicknamed.

Not possible. It's not only the ID number that needs to be the same, but the secret trainer ID, trainer name, and trainer gender as well. The odds of all those matching in any two carts are beyond remote.

He doesn't mean it matching in two carts, but picking up a pokemon from the GTS someone on this same site left, which is considerably more likely.

Hm... it'd need to be the exact same person. The odds of meeting up with someone whose Pokemon you earlier acquired from the GTS is (extremely) remote. There are a lot more people who use the GTS than those who post to online Pokemon communities.

I'll look into the possibility, though.

Well, there are 9000000 sold HGSS copies or something (a site reports 8.4 million, but I that seems too little...). Assuming those are all players using the GTS, and assuming we have say, 1000 users being players using the GTS, and that there's the same chance of finding one pokemon from any player (which is where this obviously fails), it should be the about same chance as finding a shiny, slightly smaller.
