ITT we think of ideas for the Pokemon games your certain that GF would never use.

I'll start: Illusion on Fairy/Ground/Steel/Flying. They don't see that willing to make more than two zoroark variants and I think they might see having Illusion mons cover all of the immunity spectrum to be a potential problem.
 
ANYTHING dark or mature
An actual 'evil team' that's a legitimate threat. This has clearly been the case since the last one that was like this was Team Flare in X/Y
Caring about the quality of the games
Caring about what the fanbase thinks. I seriously doubt the S/V complaints is what got the '3 year pattern' to actually stop

I could probably go all day with this but I'll stop here for now.
 
TBC the scope of the thread was meant to be about the mechncial side of the games, not the story or human character side.
 
id really like another pokemon game where there are only new pokemon and you dont have access to any of the old ones (like in bw). i personally loved that but i think it was generally not a very popular move so i dont think its something gf would try again :sadsola:

It would go down even worse with Dexit now a thing. Imagine how bad it would be if you can't even trade in any old Pokémon at all?

i suppose they kind of did that already with lgpe since iirc you could only send pkmn from pogo to lgpe and i dont think that went down well haha

for clarification i meant like... not being able to access any of the old pkmn in the wild in-game. id still want to be able to trade in old pokemon
 
Triple typings as a fully realized mechanic. There are many Pokemon who already fit into the triple-typing category, but not one of them is a triple type. That idea can already be taken care of by abilities like Steelworker anyways.
 
Some kind of way to speak to regular Pokemon, lol. i think pokemon uranium had that as a plot device but not much was done with it. and tbh i can understand why they didnt because that opens up a whole can of worms.
 
I think it will remain as 18 types unless GameFreak finds something that isn't represented, has overlap or for balancing reasons.

An example is how its too late for the light type in my opinion.

I assume if it ever happens then it will probably be used for a plot important Pokemon or something.
