This is a thing where you post the ridiculous things that 4kids would do to anime if they dubbed it.


If 4kids dubbed.... Digimon Season Five

Masaru's English name would be Manfred instead of Marcus.
Masaru's whole things where he punches Digimon would either be cut, or changed to look like he is poking them instead of punching them
RiseGreymon's rident Revolver arm would become something like a popgun that shoots gumballs, or something else equally dumb
Ikuto might get a sex change
All the deaths would change (not saying who to avoid spoilers)
BantyoLeomon would be "PirateLeomon", and have a Scottish accent
Kurata's name would be changed to Kurtis
Lilamon would be Lilacmon (note the C between the Lila and the Mon)
 
Uh...why Ikuto?

He does nothing overtly feminime, has no obvious gay stereotypes, and doesn't look like a girly-character at all.

The episodes would last 30 seconds each :p

you seem to forget that this is all stuff that Saban and Bandai of America have always been responsible for. They change Japanese names to close-sounding western names (and how's Manfred any different from Marcus?), they lengthen Digimon names to include the full word of origin (ex. Fladramon to Flamedramon), and Digimon have been given accents before (Xuanwumon, or Ebonwumon in the dub, had the Scottish accent, for instance).

Anyway, something noteworthy should be the fact that they'd most likely get rid of Megumi and Miki's cleavage in the second half of the series (Miki with reduced skin exposure would totally make me cry T_T), and Rosemon and certain other female Digimon would be edited to death.

Yup, pretty much.

If 4kids had dubbed Naruto....

-The character of Jiraiya would be completely removed.
-Sexy-no-Jutsu would be in a sweater.
-Hinata would be renamed Heather (And I'd kill them for it.)
-Sakura would be Susan.
-Sasuke would be Sammy.
-There would be no ninjas.
 
There'd still be ninjas if 4Kids dubbed Naruto...just...hip-hop singing ninjas...
 
They've been losing a lot of anime lately...no names mentioned....

And you're quite lucky that Studopolis picked up the new Digimon season. (they did take part in the other seasons, but only for the movies)

Anyway if 4kids dubbed Neon Genesis Evangelion:
-Title called Mega Eva Robots.
-Rei into Rhea.
-Asuka into Ashley.
-Shinji into Paul Shaun.
-Gendo into George.
-Misato into Melissa.
-Ritsuko into Rachael.
-Angels are now called Flyers.
-Complete deletion of Kaworu / Change into a girl with sexual tensions betweeen him (Or her) with Shinji (Now Shaun) replaced with random high-fives and hugging in the park.
-Cross symbols replaced with hearts.
-Rei's bandaged look replaced with her muffled all in a big cast suit hiding the bleeding.
-NERV is now called NEVER. (because of the assumption of nerve connecting to bodily functions)
-Shinji's depression moments replaced with speeches of optimism and positive thinking.
-Any mention of death is converted into "being reborn again".
-Blood is removed.
-Shinji's dead mother instead being mentioned of "on a trip to Hawaii".
-Theme song converted into a teeny bopper-happy theme called "Kind Flyer's Learning".
-Asuka would be Irish because of her red/orange-like hair.
-Pen Pen would gain talking parts.
-Angels edited out to look like animals and not disturbing masses of...things.
-Main kid characters' ages raised to 18-20.
-Human Instrumentality Project changed to only mention of "attempting to bring peace".
-Each battle reduced to only a minute.

nah, they'd just draw a Hitler mustache and swastika tattoos on her. Of course Al Khan believes that if we get to see a Nazi gradually going insane as the series progresses, he'd earn favor from all of America. (This is in reference to an Egyptian thief during the memory arc of Yu-gi-oh!, whom I recall they edited to look like the common public view of a terrorist, only without the rifle and bomb jacket)
 
Just go and watch the German version of Naruto and you´ll see what naruto would be like if 4kids would have dubbed it.

Sasuke is SasUke! and the old pervert is an "old fogey". Every blood is removed. Nobody dies, but disappears or gets captured ( Hinata´s father was send to the enemy in a status of unconsciousness.), nobody gets really hurt. Swords and Kunais are erased so that nothing is thrown or held by the characters. EVERY name is pronounced wrong. we have a hip-hop opening.

In a few scenes. In others he has his sword back. They just remove weapons when someone threatened by one. Which makes no sense whatsoever, because Zabusa´s sword can be bought as a toy anyway...

On some scenes, they throw kunais, but nothing is flying to the enemy.


The sexy no justsu is the same as in the Funi-version, and the newer episodes are based on the original japanese ones, so we see more nude naruto in our version...it doesn´t help though...
And Jiraya´s lines are all watered down to turn him into a silly old man instead of a pervert.

I don´t watch the episodes anymore because I can´t stand it...but I love to read the comparisons of edits and cuts. great comedy stuff.
 
if 4kids dubbed bleach:
no blood
no swearing(thats not true emotion people)
Kon's personality would be totally different
Oriheme and masumoto wouldn't have cleavege
Rukia wouldn't be sentence to death, just lose her powers
no one would die
yourichi's scene of transformation would be cut out
soi fung wouldn't be obsesed with yourichi
captain kurotsuichi wouldn't be a scientist who kills specimens, just keeps them locked up forever.
the scene were uryu shoots kurotsuchi would be cut out
ichigo wouldn't have a hollow side
ichigos mom would have died just gone missing
kenpachi wouldn't be a killer lover, just works out alot
nudity would be cut out
hollows couldn't kill, just scare people
hell butterflys would be nightmare butterflies
soul reapers would be call spirit peacers
ichigos dad wouldn't attck him
zanpacktos would have english name(ex.zangetsu-zeus) ok greek names XD
thay girl thats crazy for orehime would be cut out
ichigos and renjis forbidden love scene would be cut out


In other words, its a whole new story:bawling:

Wow... Are there German dubs of Power Rangers? Because that would just contradict with the whole Naruto matter.
 
That's Yu Gi Oh caliber stuff! Lol! To be fair, 4KiDS is almost completely random with what they sensor. Sometimes they leave stuff alone or throw in an extra dirty joke as an attempt to get street credit form the Anime community.

I really think that if 4Kids got Naruto they'd just remove violence and give every person that talks to Naruto a pun after their real line. They'll also probably change Sasuke's personality and reason for revenge. I think Jiraiya will be still perverted but toned down slightly.

Though, to continue this game... if 4KiDS got Bobobo....

There'd be no Serviceman :(
and that'd be a severe true injustice to all of the Kids in America!
 
If 4Kids got Death Note...

L would probably be a sexy empowered woman. Maybe something like 'Lydia' as a name.
They'd probably change it to 'Life Note' instead of death note, since 4kids doesn't like people to die.
The people whose names were written down would have near death experiences and suddenly repent their heinous crimes, despite being in jail and on the death penalty...
