I was thinking if all of the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon were given genders, what genders they'd receive.

Here's a list of the current Legendary and Mythical Pokémon that don't have any genders...

What genders do you guys think they'd receive? I'd like to think that some of them would just be female only (and vice versa with male only) like Latias and Cresselia while others would have a 50/50 chance of being either male or female like Heatran.

My friends think I'm kind of weird for thinking this, but am I the only one that felt like Dialga was a female?
 
Pokemon like Arceus, Darkrai and Mewtwo seem to have male persona's and are played by male voice actors in the anime. This implies they are of male gender, however I think the reason they don't have a gender is probably because they have no means of breeding and were created by different means other than breeding.

Most of the legendaries were born from mystical power and in some cases artificially (Mewtwo, Genesect). If they have a gender persona that is more likely based on the environment, which they were created.
 
Since I imagine most legendaries to be male, it's a bit easier for me to just list the four I see as female:
>>Mewtwo
>>Mew
>>Manaphy
>>Meloetta

Explanations:

Since Mew is said to be the ancestor of all Pokémon, having it be a female (the mother of all Pokémon species) makes a lot of sense to me. And since Mewtwo was cloned from Mew, it would make sense for it to be a female as well. (This is ignoring the anime voices, and just using my own head canon).

Manaphy has a little bit of a similar roll to Mew, in that it can breed to produce Phione. Again with the mother imagery etc, I see it as a female.

Meloetta... I feel is kinda obvious. I was actually surprised when Meloetta wasn't given a gender.
(Same with the Muskedeers and Keldeo... I thought for sure those would have been made male.)

* I had a hard time with the astericed ones. Jarachi seemed to have the personality of a young boy in M06. Manaphy is refered to as the "Prince of the Sea" in M09 and called a Male many times in the PMD games. Virizion seems feminen but is based on Aramis of the 3 musketters. The genderless ones don't seem to have a gender in my mind.

I've always thought the legendary bird trio plus Ho-oh and Lugia were more on the female side, while the legendary dogs were male. Some of the more childish looking ones like Mew, lake trio, and celebi is kind of hard to tell.

I generally refer to all legendaries as "he". Even Cresselia and Latias. ._.; It's a bad habit. But in my Pokemon stories, Legendaries will be given a gender. Here is what they would be.

1.Articuno, 2.Zapdos, 3.Moltres
-all female. An odd idea for me, I guess, but these three are just quite girlish to me.

4.Mewtwo
-male. Melee plus anime help reinforce the idea.

5.Mew
-male. I see Mewtwo as male, so therefore the being he was cloned from must be male, too.

6.Raikou, 7.Entei, 8.Suicune
-all male. Entei helped reinforce this, because of the 3rd movie.

9.Ho-oh
-female. Same with Lugia below, Ho-oh being linked to the sun brings to mind Japan's sun goddess Ameteratsu. So Ho-oh is a girl, I guess!

10.Lugia
-male. For some reason, I just think "Budda" when I see Lugia. o_o; So that makes him male in my eyes. I'm so odd.

11.Celebi
-male. Because the founder of Serebii.net is a guy. HAH JOKING. No real good reason other than "all chibi-legendaries" are male for me.

12.Kyogre
-female. To counter Groudon, I guess. Plus women always have the advantage over men, mwahahaah -bricked-

13.Groudon
-male. Even I can succumb to gender stereotypes once in a while. ._.; Groudon is too physically imposing, poisoned by testosterone.

14.Rayquaza
-genderless. I guess I have the "3rd guy" as always genderless.

15.Jirachi
-male. following the chibi-legendary tradition of mine.

16.Deoxys
-genderless. Or simply unknown. I can't decide what gender Deoxys could be. Maybe his planet is full of genderless beings. D:

17.Uxie, 18.Mesprit, 19.Azelf
-all male. Just because they're cute doesn't mean they have to be girls. And pink doesn't equal female, Mystery Dungeon.

20.Dialga
-female. The higher-pitched roar makes me think Dialga might just be a girl.

21.Palkia
-male. Pink does not equal female. Plus is cry is very deep compared to Dialga's.

22.Giratina
-genderless. Giratina is a dead dragon. A ghost of antimatter; gender doesn't really matter that much to the dead.

23.Manaphy
-male. Even if he's not the official chibi legendary of Shinnoh, I still see him as male. Ditto can always be the girl. o_o;

24.Darkrai
-male. He is counterpart to Cresselia in everything: new moon VS full moon, nightmares VS dreams, etc. I complete it with M VS F.

25.Shaymin
-male. His Sky forme really helps me make this decision. Looks so boyish to me.

26.Arceus
-genderless. For me, Arceus could be anything he wants: he can be a god or a goddess.

27.Victini
-male. Again following my "all chibi-legendaries are male" for me.

28.Cobalion, 29.Terrakion, 30.Virizion
-all male. Like the real Musketeers they were based on.

31.Reshiran
-male. So what if Sugimori said he sees Reshiram as "feminine"? Feminine does not mean "female". Because of how yin-yang works in real life, I see Reshiram as simply a feminine man. A pretty boy in other words.

32.Zekrom
-female. Yes, despite how manly and cool Zekrom is, I honestly believe Zekrom is a female. Plus it ties into the yin-yang theme: black is girl, white is boy. Zekrom, for me, is simply a masculine woman.

33.Kyurem
-genderless. He is a "void", or is "nothing". Like Giratina before him, I believe Kyurem really doesn't have a gender because he is the leftover material of his fellow trio.

34.Keldeo
-male, like the rest of the Musketdeers.

35.Meloetta
-male. I refuse to conform to gender stereotypes. ._. Pokemon aren't human beings. Just because they LOOK like a human girl doesn't mean they are. For all we know, Meloetta likes how they look and decided he could look like one too.

36.Genesect
-male. I'm not sure why.
