If America had a Queen or King...

I personally wouldn't like it because it means we'd have to have Royalty, therefore someone who goes through years of college and tries to become the leader(President) might not get a chance because someone who is in the Royal Family will become the King/Queen and might not know jack shit about anything.

But that can also work vice-versa, although I wouldn't like having Royalty in the country, also imo it would suck having to have another American Revolution.

Jon Stewart will be king, and Stephen Colbert will be queen.
That is all.

In response to Insomniac, we have elected Presidents who don't know anything about anything, and having a Monarchy doesn't guarantee that the Monarch will actually be running the country. In the UK the Queen serves as an ambassador and figurehead. The Prime Minister holds nearly the same power our President does.

That being said, I agree with Zephy.

I said it can work vice-versa but I never studied about Kings or Queens so yeah I was wrong to begin with probably. I'd still hate the idea.

I live in a monarchy, and believe me, they haven't got much to say when it comes to actually ruling the country. Frankly, I don't see why we have it at all, but I guess it's tradition.

I have no idea who would be king or queen though...

I do that too...

My monarchy has Jennifer Love Hewitt as tyrant queen and me as her b*tch young attractive butler! 8D

Imaginary royalties are fun!

I'd be her butler anyway...

I should be the ruling king. I have already have a plan on how to take control; however I lack the materials such as a giant electrical (magnetic?) wave discharger that could send a pulse over a several mile radius and an means to read the resulting magnetic fields when they come into contact with metal. I also lack a crack team of specialists who support my cause and 3 helicopters. The charred human remains and small heat generators would be easy to get.

But I can't set this plan into action now; otherwise it would seem racist with Obama as president, and dilute the purpose.

So instead, I'll vote for Morgan Freeman. Everyone loves the sound of his voice, he'd make an excellent delegate and ambassador.

Historically, there are three ways to become a monarch. You are either born into it, take it by force, or you are just a respected enough leader to become one. There's no telling how our history would've played out if we had chosen a monarchy over democracy, but as for how it would play out today, there is no way we would accept it. For the sake of playing along, though, I am going to say whoever has the most prestige in this country. The most dignified of the upper crust. I have no idea who that is right now. I want to say Bill Gates, but I am not sure if other billionaires respect him or not. (Sorry, the rich are the closest we have to an aristocracy here)

I don't think there should be a Monarchy in America. Its a leading Democracy of the world. Looking at its international status, and the fact that it was the one who took the task of spreading Democracy in the World during the Cold war(if I recall correctly), I guess a Monarchy in America is out of the question.

NOTE: I didn't mean to 'offend' anyone or something like that by saying all that. They're just my personal views.
